HoosierHarvester, that would be neat if that seedling always looked like the third picture. That is a huge edge on it.

My 2nd seedling of 2014. This sdlg. was planted a little over 2 yrs. ago, and the bloom is an FFO, 24'' tall, 6'' bloom, with 12 buds. I have no intention of registering my seed crosses. I will keep what I like, and discard what doesn't appeal to me, or the genetics don't merit the plant taking up space in my garden. That having been said, I am always thrilled to see a new sdlg. bloom for the first time, especially the time it takes here in Vermont, without a green house, to bring a seed to bloom.

Very nice one, Alex. It does take a long time, but some are worth the wait! I have some seedlings that probably won't bloom until 2016 (hopefully). These will be my first ever. So I am pollinating more this year and will try to get a few years running of seedlings so I always have something to look forward to.

VIcki You won't be disappointed that you have taken the time this summer to hybridize and plant those seeds. Also, this may surprise you, but last year, I had a 13 month old sdlg. bloom here, and this summer, I will have several 13 month old sdlgs. bloom for me. This is the exception, however, not the rule. But 13 months???. I feel like I am in Florida with such luck.
