Gorgeous seedlings everyone! Love those Super Fancy Face kids. Ed, your last one in the first set is kinda cool. I've got a seedling with that same dark chestnut color that I saved last year...just because...and it opened yesterday making me glad I kept it.
Alex, nice color and some pleating....

The pleating has gone extreme in this sculpted form 2012 keeper, a look I happen to like and understand others may not, it's ok. One of the best things about daylilies is there is something for all of us to find and enjoy. Daylilies, as a whole, bring us all together. Smiling

and an odd duck...waffle or creped, in white it looks lacy to me. Caught the image just before a storm a few nights ago so it's a bit dark, sorry.

Ed, do you have a photo of Thorny Devil for the database?

Sorry Glen, S-427 (Horny Devil x Annette's Magic)} came to me from Lee Pickles
I never did get around to buying either of the parents, and to be honest S-427 only bloomed one year for me.
I sent it to a friend to see what she could get from it.
I did manage to get a number of really nice kids using pollen from it though.

So many beautiful seedling on here. You are all showing off those beautiful tetraploid crosses.
Around our place my son works with tets and I just make dip crosses. Mine are just plain and his have teeth and double edges, but we both like what we work with. He thinks I make some strange crosses, but when he complains about many attempts and not setting seeds or finding large pods with only a couple of seeds, I tell him he should work with diploids. I don't think he is convinced or ready to change since his wish list for more new tets is growing everytime he gets on here or the auction or the hybridizers sites.
I will still post some of my diploid seedings so here are three seedlings from the the same cross.
Green Arrow x Ida Mae Norris
Two are very tall, well over 3 feet and all three are large bloom 6 and 7 inches and well branched and budded. I have one seedling of this cross that continues to shoot up scapes all summer, making it the only daylily that I have grown with an ever booming plant habit.

Thanks Ed. I was wondering where the bicolor came from for the seedling H28. It must be Heavenly Beginnings.

Drooling here over all the beautiful blooms/seedlings!

Ashton and Terry - Your Green Arrow x Ida Mae Norris cross sure produced some very lovely blooms. That's cool that one of those plants is ever-blooming! That is a BIG plus for any daylily!!!!

Glen pod parent for H-28 was {S-352 (Horny Devil x Annette's Magic) another seedling from Pickles
Heavenly Beginnings was a major influence

S-352 pic
Thumb of 2014-07-15/EdBurton/99bddc

Another seedling out of S-352 breeding also showed the bi-color
D-63 {S-352 (Horny Devil x Annette's Magic) X Lemon Fringed Pastel} Lemon Fringed Pastel is a toothy lemon so it looks like S-352 has the ability to create the bi-color without pollen parent help

ARoseblush said: Thank You! VIcki You won't be disappointed that you have taken the time this summer to hybridize and plant those seeds. Also, this may surprise you, but last year, I had a 13 month old sdlg. bloom here, and this summer, I will have several 13 month old sdlgs. bloom for me. This is the exception, however, not the rule. But 13 months???. I feel like I am in Florida with such luck.

Fred....Dr. Stump X Lillian's First Bite is a stunning bloom. Just outstanding. Thumbs up

Ed...You know how much I love your bi-colors, pastels, and anything to do with 'Wild Child' and teeth!!!

Seedling #3 of 2014 (already a record for me for seedlings in one summer, with a lot more to follow this summer). What fun! With this newest seedling, I am really looking at the edge. With these two parents involved, the edge becomes the main focus. Scape is 20", with 19 buds Y-shaped, and bloom size only at 5". This is a FFO. Color is a lovely bright tangerine with a faint broken eye, and, green, green throat. Age of seedling 21 months. I expect lots of changes to this one, as the season progresses.

Betty, the interesting thing about green arrow is that is made from two red daylilies royal curls X great red dragon. That is where the red flowers come from. The ever blooming seedling is not one of the three pictured.
Here's the picture of it.
