Oh hurray. Lily and I are really pleased because there is a new dog on the block. Neighbors two houses down from us got a lovely year old Sheltie named Finn. He really is a beautiful dog.

They already met each other and it seemed like love at first sight. Lily will have a new friend.

Yay, Lily! Maybe someone to go on walks with?

I am sure the two dogs will see a lot of each other.

That is so nice for Lily. Charle has a friend who runs in the field on the farm next door and they love each other. He is a big boxer and a sweet dog. Never barks, just big and friendly.

I bought Charle a new crate to give him more room and I am not sure he likes it. It is very nice and the door opens like a garage door and gives you more room in the house. I love it. Poor Charle. Sometimes you can't win trying to please both people or dogs. The new pad has not yet arrived so I kept his old pad from the old crate in it....that also makes him feel at home....hopefully.

Maybe put something in there that has your scent on it? Would that help him feel more comfortable?

He will get used to it.

I do believe dogs make friends with certain other dogs. Just like we make friends with some people.

I put Charle in the crate when we went to Best Buy and we were gone several hours. He was fine and now he seems to like it. He goes in there to drink water from the little bowl....he is such a sweet little guy I want him to be happy. The darn crate and pad cost me almost $200. He better like them. Pad still did not come.

He had better! And I am sure he will. It is funny how much we all fuss over our four footed kids. We all want out fur babies to be extra happy. I know I want mine to be a happy girl and she is.

We've been watching my nephew's dog while he was at the beach last week. She has been loving it in the country and the freedom of being off a leash, but the crazy suburbia townhouse dog managed to go after a skunk on Saturday. Phewwwwwww... My brother-in-law has bathed her with multiple products numerous times, but she still reeks and could care less about how she smells She is so comical with the confused look when we are ready to close up for the night and she isn't invited inside anymore. My nephew was supposed to pick her up yesterday, but opted to leave her with us until the stink is not so overpowering. I guess we'll have her a few more days at least.

Silly dog!

I am bird sitting for my son in law's Mother's cockatiel, Rocky, for two weeks. She is going to Maine to visit her daughter, so good ole Rocky stays here. He is the only other bird I have ever left in my aviary...I knew his breeder and I know how she takes care of him so I am sure he is o.k. also, he never get to be near other birds. I guess I sound nasty, but you can easily carry diseases from one bird to another and with birds, you seldom know they are sick until they are too far gone to cure most times. Rocky is a talker and a whistler. It is driving Charle crazy. He is used to Gunny's voice, not this one is different. He keeps going to the bird room and looking to see who is there.
