I already spent last weekend making a whole new raised bed because of a suprise box of 20, then my addicted desire to get more of the unusuals with horns & spoons & flounces. It is already full! But I still bought more at the PNW sale. I justify it with the fact that I actually built a bed that could easily expand..... I am an addict. I have been enabled in the most generous and kind manner. I even bought from vendors after they were closed for the season ....because they are nice and generous enablers too. Did I mention the 5 dwarfs still to come? A few more spoons? I am actually proud of not buying more at PNW, but now the pictures are being posted???? Thank the stars I am going on vacation! (whew!)

OK, but we need your updated status on the "Nutty Iris Scale" before you go off having a life beyond irises. That goes for all you guys out there who are buying irises yet. We need an update. I see Arlyn updated his, We may need another category on the higher end, or we may need to adjust the numbers on the scale as many of us are way on the high end of things.

A MDB which I bought at a fund raising iris sale arrived very, very dry. After our 2 1/2" of rain last week I see a tiny piece of green. Wonderful color. I also found a brown iris borer pupa today--horrid color.

I did get 4 in the ground today... I know, I'm not like the rest of you with dedicated beds where you can plunk in 50 w/out missing a beat. I have to figure out where to tuck in a hundred plus iris in the garden.. The good news is that they've put out great roots in the pots, and were fine to go ahead and plant. Luckily, the garden is fairly big.. and keeps getting bigger...

Good work! I know how it is to have to find or make room! Now you have pots ready for the ones I'm shipping tomorrow!

Yes Sherry, I might be going to that sale. If I go, I'll hang out in Santa Cruz for the rest of the day. Maybe go to the beach...

Tom - I don't count my chickens before they hatch, ehem, rhizomes before they arrive, since you never know what may come along for the ride, or what may be left out. I am perfectly content to let my final rating float for a week ..... and you know it certainly isn't likely to go down!
