I KNOW THIS IS NOT THE FOOTBALL FORUM, BUT THANKS EVERYONE! I have literally waited my lifetime to experience this, and I cannot begin to describe my feelings right now. The Mississippi State vs. Auburn game was my 434th consecutive football game.

I just looked at the Lc Mini Purple 'Shibuya' and all buds are now pretty much open. I wish I could send the pretty scent along with these pretty blooms.
Jim, I envisioned something like this for your gorgeous piece of driftwood.

Something similar would look fabulous on that driftwood.

I agree with Ken, I think perhaps three mini purples would look great on that piece of red cedar.

I am doing an all day phone duty at the Extension and will go on over to the library in Plant City to give the orchid talk. This makes for a long day.

Yes, you're right, Ursula. I'm as busy as I want to be but constantly doing things I want to do. I'm pretty good at giving gardening talks and the people seem to enjoy my presentations. At the USF fall plant sale last weekend many people came up to me because they had heard one of my talks. It is lots of fun.

I almost missed the bloom on this little fellow, Coelogyne fimbriata.

Watch out Jim, that little Coel will take over. I grow them in bulb pans, they do a lot of branching. And bloom freely, recommend as a starter choice for that genus if any newby would like to try Coelogyne. Nice pictures.

Maybe that's the one to mount on your driftwood 'hand' Jim? It will spread and put its little roots into all the nooks and crannies.

All my orchids are still camping out in the yard, while I wait for screen repairs on the pool cage to be done. So as I go hunting to keep an eye on everyone, of course I'm finding surprises. My Copper Queen has put out a new spike with very pale flowers. I must wonder if all the water they got last month caused this rather washed-out color. Still love that pretty dotty lip! Also a few 'maybe Yellow Birds' showing up here and there.

Thanks, yes I'm not complaining, just musing. This is a division of Ken's plant that had very yellow flowers last fall, and quite peachy copper ones last spring, so it's just interesting that it keeps putting out different colors. I wonder if it will create a different palette if it blooms in the cooler weather as well . . . Big Grin
