looking forward to a photo contest. I have a long way to go learning more. I have a new lens on my Christmas wish list after seeing incredible photos from our neighbor taken in her back yard. It is always enjoyable viewing gardening photos. It triggers new ideas too - like Pinterest

If nobody has anything else has anything to say about the photo contest, then what are we waiting for to start the contest?

I'm assuming that we're just waiting for Dave to get it organized. Gotta make all those badges, ya know!

Jon, we must have patience. I imagine that it will take a fair amount of time to organize everything with so many categories, write up the rules, do the programming, etc..

Dave has us spoiled. We've gotten too used to instant gratification.

I'm doing some behind the scenes work here before we move on.

I am 99% sure we're going to have prizes, actually. I have a company (that I won't name yet) but it's a good popular company that has hosted raffles in the past. They are offering me gift certificates to the tune of $250 for the first place, and smaller ones for 2nd and 3rd place. So this is going to be pretty nice. Once I get that finalized, I will finish my prep on the code and we'll be off and running.

I am tentatively looking at October 18th as the start date for entries.

I'd sure be interested in having the max submissions per category be five rather than two. So hard to choose. I have it in my head that I'd isolate my six or so best shot, pick two, and leave out the most interesting four because my eye/taste is strange(?). I do understand having to scroll through too many, too. Whatever the case, this is the inaugural event, so it's rather like a beta...there will be a learning curve no matter what.

I lean toward fewer rather than more. Pick your best.
