Good feedback @Horntoad

I think the wildflowers should be just one category for now. I also think we should leave "Landscapes and Gardens" as one category and not categorize on what kind of garden it is.

The new proposed categories based on your feedback:

Annuals
Perennials
Bulbs
Specific Plants: Roses
Specific Plants: Daylilies
Specific Plants: Irises
Specific Plants: Cacti and Succulents
Specific Plants: Lilies
Plant Macros (Closeups)
Landscapes and Gardens
Containers
Trees and Shrubs
Vegetables
Tropicals and Orchids
Wildflowers and Natives

Indeed! I knew that with some collaboration we could put together a nice collection of categories.

I expect we're forgetting one or two so I'll leave this thread going for a while. Maybe Monday I'll setup the contest and we can begin it the following week.

J, I'd think butterflies and bees would be fine as long as they are amongst the garden/blooms. Green Grin!

And please be ruthless about cutting out cute grandbabies/pets dominating the photos... I would support a 'rule' of no humans or animals in any photo. Looking forward to beautiful plant photos.

Great idea. There are other places for pets and people. We want to have just plants.

I agree and as much as I like to see photos of butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators maybe they should be banned as well.

Well, those pollinators on blooms are perfectly within the scope of ATP, in my opinion.

I would guess a photo spot-lighting a pollinator will be submitted under the "Insect on Plant" category, while a beautiful bloom which may also have an insect of some type on it would be submitted under the appropriate flower category.

I think wildlife in the garden as long as the photo clearly has a plant/garden in it should be ok. Maybe in the future a category for' wildlife in the garden' could be added.

My bad! I didn't read the prior posts carefully enough to see the added category...and yes I do like hawkmoths j.
