Thank you Tiffany! I couldn't believe the flowers either. They were pretty dry and I figured I might have to cut them off. But, just a few minutes in their water and those flowers perked right up! I was so glad! Also, he buds that haven't opened yet are opening now. I just love them! Thank you so much, they made my year!

My philo erubascens I ordered the other day came in the mail today. I have to say that with many years of trading and buying plants online that this plant looks great! Please let me know what y'all think of it. I am so excited to have it! Now, I need to research on how to take care of it.

Mine does that sometimes too.

Finally, this plant made a wide-open bloom (or finally my timing for looking is right.)

Last year my P. Moonlight looked as though it wanted to sprout new leaves but something was holding them back. It seemed it didnt have enough strength for the leaves to break through. When I received it as a gift, it had many larger leaves on it. So as it had become heavy and looked stressed from the previous owner, I decided to get rid of all the larger leaves gradually. Over time it seemed to get its strength more and more until finally I removed the last of the large leaves. It seems they were sucking all the life away from the newer growth. Now I am so glad I let go of being greedy for lots of foliage. Once I let go of the old, and with the dawn of spring many new leaves are bursting forth with no problem. Tadaa!

I've been watching the 1st bud, to the right, and noticed the one on the left today, on 'Black Cardinal.'


Updates on some others:

I received this little philo from Gene, @GasRocks, and it is just about my favorite plant. Gene grew such a sturdy stocky stem for such a healthy little plant. It's shape and personality are just adorable. I have so enjoyed it.

As you can see in the second photo, within a short time, it grew a beautiful variagated leaf. I was over the moon.

I just cannot wait to see it grow next summer. It has the best seat in the house in the living room, where the special plants live.
