Hey Tiffany, I am so glad to be right behind you in a thread, so you know I am talking to you!! I wandered thru this from the beginning 2 years ago. Your pic with the plants in front of the window just amazed me. I have a window I am finding is a favorite for many houseplants. DH had a few grumbles as the jungle in front of it multiplies. I guess he thinks "The Little Shop of Horrors" is a true story. All the posts in this thread have had the unwanted effect of making me love Philos more than I knew.

So nice to see what many of you all here were doing two years ago. I really enjoyed it. I would love to see @Cinta show her plants again, well just everyone's here!!! Wouldn't it be fun to see the plants two years later, and see what was strong and even what was lost. Such an education we could have from this nice old post.

I love the "then vs. now" of it too! The very first pic of this discussion is shown in my last post in the pic right under the words "Updates on some others:" It's with arrowhead vine companion now, and no longer in the little hanging pot. I love they show they're putting on! Some of the vines of that Philo go around that piece of fence "trellis" twice already & unless you start digging around under the leaves, it's completely hidden & the vines are poised to completely hide a 4-ft. tomato cage.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.

First is my Arrowhead Philodendron, Nephthytis, 'Trileaf Wonder'; Could not find this plant anywhere. Got it gifted to me by a good friend after looking for years.
Thumb of 2016-09-27/Stush2019/949acf

Same friend gave me a replacement for my lost Golden Zanadu.

Next is my large pot full of Philodendron Florida Beauty (HYB) (Sold often as P. squamiferum, but actually reported to be a hybrid of P. laciniatum and P. pedatum) and Philodendron Bipennifolium Splash Gordon.

I have to thin this down before taking it in for the winter. Roots easily from stem cuttings. Any takers? Pay for postage only.

Those are pretty, Stush!

I think your first plant is this one:
Arrowhead Plant (Syngonium podophyllum)

It's cool & unusual to have one with mature, split leaves in a pot. I've also only ever seen the juvenile foliage for sale at stores.

@Stush, we need your great photo of Nephthytis (Syngonium podophyllum 'Trileaf Wonder') in the database! I've never heard or seen that one but it sure is pretty ... wonder if it has invasive tendencies like the stuff that's taking over my backyard?

Yes, that's the same stuff, Syngonium podophyllum. The mature, split foliage usually loses its' variegation ifwhen it is able to form a significant vine. Your pics seem to show that well. Stush's plant also looks like the potted plant in this pic of yours, Lin:

I have some in a pot, traded for some from someone in FL. It's in the pot shown in my 2nd pic on 9/24, the leaves right in the middle of the pic.

Lin, Those are it's fat leaf cousins, Also yours is very similar to mine. I got this from a good friend in Florida who knows his plants. Goes by Russ on another site I'm on. I do believe it's ID is actuate. Tried for many years to obtain this plant. Got similar looking ones but never this one. Stays mostly a bush but it does start to vine at some point. Very slow growing and almost lost it. Those fat leaf ones, I have two big hanging baskets of and grows and starts very easy with a cutting.
Same with the Zanadu. The green type grows like a weed but the yellow type is very slow and hard to grow. Almost never pups and must cut growing stock to produce offsets. Very hard to root and slow. Russ gave me these also.

Gee, I did not know there is a Philodendron section here. I have been posting pix of Philo. in other sections. OK, on its way indoors. Philo. Xanadu. I have a total of 6. 2 babies 18" across and 4 adults. This is the smallest of the adults. I have some huge P. Selloum which are great but I find the Xanadu a nice change of pace.

Oh, Gene. So sorry. The way the original post went right into split leafs, I just got the wrong idea in my head. I will just call it my best Philodendron from now on.

Please contact Dave about it. So far I am not a fan of the new format. They made the part where I try to read things smaller to fit in some ads. Gene

Here's an old picture of my xanadu green and yellow side by side. I have since lost those but have the ones pictured above. Green grows too big for me.
