Got Jacob's ladder repotted..the roots somehow remind me of spider plants roots, quite thick.
The care tag says partial shade..other sites I went too says full sun.. Shrug! So am going to keep it for now on the table, just to see how it adjusts, with the summer temps and sun. Our triple digits coming back this weekend.. Rolling my eyes.

Tarev, I have a small one. It doesn't like full sun.

Thanks for the input Deebie..if it gets too hot, I will use the umbrella as additional cover.

Thanks Bev, those succulents on that side are behaving quite well this year. Big Grin

Thanks Greg!

Oops, I think I spoke too soon, my Crassula Ovata Gollum showing in my current avatar is having a major fit with this heat wave. Going sideways bending towards the wall..so gave it another good dose of water this afternoon. And I think it is finally coming back to its correct upright posture. ..whew..close call. ..got to keep an eye on the succulents, they are getting quite thirstier too since my plants are all in containers and some have grown a lot, needing more water.

Same thing happened to one of my Eve's Needle, starting to buckle, the recent rains before the heat wave and some more watering I gave it allowed it to regain its posture.

Succulent plant or otherwise, with this heat wave..don't forget to give an extra dose of water. Smiling

Tarev, we are in the 90's up here (northern CA) and forecast to be 90s till Wed. Just got in from outside after (as you said) "give an extra dose of water". Good advice! Keep cool over there!

Last year when we stayed in the 90s for two months my succulents need as much water as my water loving plants. It was amazing how much water they wanted. If they did not get a lot of water the bottom leaves started to dry up and drop off. I had to water them twice a day.

This week we are getting so much rain I am at a flooding position. What is amazing is they are growing like they are on steroids. Heat and a lot of water really works. Who knew. We think of these plants as wanting dry conditions.

I'm having to do the same thing Centa, if I dont water my succulents 2-3 times a day in this heat they start hurting. Today is so potent I had to bring out my bed sheets for extra cover for the plants. The cacti on the other hand, are like dun nun-na-nun... can't touch this Sticking tongue out

I think once it hits 90F and more, they can take in more water. Well, especially my plants all in containers.

Have been monitoring the temps, amazing how the heat of the sun in the morning during this heat wave is just that much.
My weather station showed this: glad I have already given the plants their daily morning shower.

Tarev, what's been the lows at night for you? I've been debating whether to water at nite or in the morning. I am not an early riser so was thinking at nite but concerned about wet and cold. Our low's have been 50's and some of my plants are newbies and not well established...

During this heat wave, our lows are at the 80's range, then towards dawn low 70's. But my garden gets some shadow from our house, so the increments of heat is gradual. In the afternoons I get the tree canopy protecting the garden, but ambient temps during heat wave will not go below 100F during daytime.

So I do a 2nd batch of watering/misting to all the plants. Poor things..they have no choice but to endure the heat. I am hiding some new plants in part shade if I can, I know they will just go toast even if they are succulents in this kind of heat.
There is some breeze outside late afternoon yesterday and this morning, but it is likewise hot, so evaporation will be fast again..for sure need to re-water the plants.
