Passing along that all my peonies from the co-op last fall are up and running ok. Some are later than others so I should have a nice crop when they begin to mature.

Hi all!! Sorry been away for so long, but work has been crazy (and getting worse) and I only just recently began posting again on DG. Yeah, I know some of you have feelings about that, but I have some gardning buddies on that service and others here and it is hard managing to keep up with two separate gardening domains Grumbling

Missed so many of you that when Arlene sent me a C-mail about this year's get together I figured I have time, need to get caught up. I have missed so many of you like Magnolia, Ticker, Goldfinch, etc who never post on the other site anymore. Crying

Anyway, OGR, your fernies look great! Here is my Fuscia Jazz blooming today...Thumb of 2011-04-09/SteveFtWorth/09e2c0

Sure is nice to see new peonies. The pink in your post ***181 is really a grabber. I appreciate flowers out of the ordinary. I am looking at nearly a month before blooms.

Oh Stevie!!!! Those are just wonderful!!! Mine are barely little red pips showing slightly above the ground. But all are beginning to wake up and soon they will have some size to them. Smiling Quite a few of my lilies are sticking their fat little noses out of the ground. This always worries me, cause you know we'll get a cold snap again...

Hi Diann,

It is so good to see you again! I wish your lilies a safe passage and yes I am sure you will get some cold temps before all is said and done. We had a cold winter and have had a warm, almost hot spring and little rain which I am not happy about and the garden's performance shows it. Many of my plant are not returning as vibrantrly this year as last. Lilies appear to be making a decent presence so far and peonies have been OK - some much better than last year and some not as many buds...but daffodils and Dutch irises put on a poor show relative to year prior. My DI leaves were freeze damaged back in early February. Stay tuned.

Hi Steve, always enjoy your early show of peonies. As usual, they're all beautiful! I love the hot pink ones, especially Fuscia Jazz. Mine are just starting to break through the soil, no sign of my lilies yet. We're having a freakishly hot day today - almost 80 deg. Normal highs are in the low to mid 50's. Of course, storms are accompanying the warm temps too. The worms are sure enjoying it though.

Howdy goldfinch, great to see you again. Sorry about your bipolar weather LOL.....we have been dealing with the same but more on the "hot" side. Again today it's already 81 and will probably reach 90, and little rain to speak of in a month that is normally pretty wet.

Here is President Lincoln today...got from Adelman...I LOVE this one.Thumb of 2011-04-10/SteveFtWorth/2f4933

I've been out weeding all day. I can barely type. Smiling LOL A lot of my peonies are beginning to show up, as are my lilies and hosta pips. My new kitty, Camry, loves to garden with me. This makes me happy because I lost Bandit in early February and wasn't sure if there would be another "garden cat."

I got two beds done, have eight more mixed perennial beds to go. Thank god I hired a garden boy. I can weed away and he comes along and cleans up after me. Smiling LOL

Keep the peony pictures coming Stevie!!! Smiling

Diann, I am sorry you lost Bandit Sad But I am sure your new cat Camry will prove to be an equal companion. We have had some hot days (fortunately the 10-day forecast is calling for mostly 70's) but the heat and sun forced open lots of peonies.Thumb of 2011-04-11/SteveFtWorth/c52f81
