What a day! I woke up late after working a ton the last few weeks, odd hours, long hours. I saw it was 70 degrees at 8:45 am and I drank my coffee and had breakfast as fast as I could and spent 4 hours outside working, weeding, weeding and more weeding. Makes me think I should rent Diann's weeding boy. The work is never done. But it sure felt good to get outside and feel that sunshine. Then it was time for work again...

Steve I have missed you! You do such a great job with your peonies. Ann Berry Cousins is splendid as are so many of your peonies and they look so nice showing their littles flowers off. What a view you must have! It made my day to see the blooms at your place.

It will be great to see everybody's peonies once things get going. Good to see you guys here! Keep those peonies coming! It makes me believe it really could be Spring.

Great to see you Tracey....I have really missed you. Seems you're in the same boat I am regarding the endless work. And the weeding is never done for any of us. I pull them out every weekend and sometimes seems to be an exercise in futility Thumbs down

Cannot wait to see your wonderful peonies!Thumb of 2011-04-11/SteveFtWorth/46cf5d

Diann, I'm sorry to hear about Bandit too. Losing a pet is so hard. But happy to hear you have a new garden companion!

Been too wet to get out in my gardens yet, but at least I see some green in them. This is Little Pink Lullaby.

OK, I cheated. Got sick of waiting for Mother Nature so I made one out of polymer clay. Hilarious!

Beautiful fernies Jerry!

Great pictures Steve and OGR!! My fernies are up and one has a bud on it. Smiling LOL

Yeah, it was a rough year from January 2010 through February 2011. I lost all three of my kitties to old age. But they all had wonderful lives and they really were much more than just "cats." This new kitty is working out well as a garden kitty. She will stay out with my all day if I want and never wander off. Here she is, Ms. Camry:

And of course getting ready for Bartzella to pop...thanks Tracey so much for recommending, I only have the two Itohs -Garden Treasure and Bartzella.....I like Bartzella's erect and upright form better but think Garden Treasure has prettier flowers. I like them both the same! Thumbs up Thumb of 2011-04-13/SteveFtWorth/5d68f5

This is one of the transplanted singles. Don't expect to see blossoms on the regular peonies until about the 1st of May.Thumb of 2011-04-13/Oldgardenrose/a705c3

Jerry, your fernie blooms are beautiful. I have Merry Mayshine but it's quite disappointing. May be because it's a young plant.

Peonies, as with many other long term plants, get better with age. Also there are some that have the tendency to better in the south, mainly the earlier blooming varieties, from what I have heard from growers and what Steve has said in the past.
