I see your zone...but what are your growing conditions? How hot/cold? Dry or rainy?

We don't have a "Set Climate",..here due to the Gulf Stream,..though we do have lots of rain with approx 200 days of rain,..not to everybody's liking,..temperatures are mild enough in winter plus the last time snow remained on the ground was in 2010,..this year in April alone we had temperatures up to 33C-88F,..May has proven to be the same though it can drop down to 13C-58F in 24 hours.

Growing conditions are great here,..i have grown Banana Tree,..Hibiscus,..Mexican Shell Flower,..enough moisture and enough heat,..though roses do suffer here with hot sun then rain and sun again burns the leaf.

Had to go to Dublin City on Tuesday its a two hour trip by train,..i could drive there but looking for parking plus the City driving would drive me nuts as i have got so used to country life now,..it was sunny up to noon then rain and later hailstones,..hard to believe as the temperature was up in the 70's F,..crazy weather.

Cytisus scoparius,'Scotch Broom',..of which i have two,..this one is nearest the house and is starting to bloom where as the one at the end of the garden has nothing as yet.

Columbine are always cross pollinating but i almost missed one which is in bloom for the past few days,..it was only when i got up close i noticed the difference.

Oxalis debilis,'Shamrocks Pink',..showing some blooms,..i keep it in a pot as it tends to spread.

Oh boy they do like to roll in anything smelly,..dead fish is one of Molly's favorites,..i imagine you hate the washing off what ever it is as bad as myself,..one for the books,..Molly was rolling with glee in the area of the picture below and i took no notice but when i got back into the boat i couldn't put my finger on just where the smell was coming from,..after a spell i sniffed at Molly,..Garlic!,..the stuff you see is nearly all wild garlic.

Went to the Hardware Store today to have a look at the new hoses,..liked the look,..the description,.. so i bought one,..25 foot would be enough to attach to my present hose and as the new one is flexible it wouldn't knock over or break any plants.

Bad move,..when i opened the box the attachments all three were made of a plastic so that if one stood on them they would break,..then i noticed the tap attachments were for UK taps,..not the modern household ones we have here,..ours are not round but square at the tap mouth,..same type as in most USA Hotels and i presume City homes,..it also states that third party connections will not fit they must be from the firm that makes the hose,..its going back tomorrow,..cost was £29=$32.23.

I have one of those light weight hoses with metal attachments and I love it! Bought a cheap one last year and it sprung leaks constantly.... guess I got what I paid for. Hope you can find one with the good attachment.

Hi Missy,..sometimes the cheaper version is just as good,..sometimes!,..sorry yours sprung leaks,..getting attachments to fit taps that are not the round ones can be difficult,..the companies who make the attachments seem to think we all have outside taps.

My visit to the Hardware was only to purchase a Flexi Tub,..i find them very handy for planting Lilies and tall plants plus easy to carry due to the handles,..only £5=$5.56,..well worth the price.

Thank you Jeanie for the Acorn,..much appreciated!.

Well ladies i used my Flexi Tub for three lilies i got last year,..i had them in a terracotta pot and as it wasn't very deep so i wouldn't be able to use canes for support,..plenty of depth in the Flexi Tub,.."Asiatic Lily",..Red Joy.

I get very confused when posting something i did today,.. or yesterday,.. because i tend to post after midnight,.. i often start just before midnight so that is today and in the middle of the posts it turns to tomorrow,..but its still today to members in the USA Whistling

During the week i noticed from my vantage point at the river that i could see water in the distance where it should not be seen at this time of year,..its where the canal is located and it flows into the river,..so i decided that Molly the dog needed the exercise and set off to have a look see.

The view from one side of the river.
