Right. Making the woods pretty, but I would rather not see it. Just over an inch, but sticky.

Yes....it's the mating ritual of the woodcocks.....they are only supposed to be active at dawn & dusk, but I saw them in the afternoon down at the dam....they like the muddy margins of the river.....

Crocus blooming are sure signs of spring here. Still very cold here so it doesn't feel like spring!

I walk the garden and look for signs of spring. Up here on that raised bed are daylilies with tulips planted between them. Just about nothing is showing yet except the crocus planted at the foot of the bed.

The noses of peony plants have appeared between house, then snow, then gravel walk. The plant supports which were new last year are twisted.

The crocus make me think it is spring but the cold weather makes me think it is still winter. I want some warm days and sunshine.

Looks like it will be awhile yet before we get warmth, Rita. Thursday, at 51, will be as good as it gets. Friday is due to be 52 but with rain.

I know it has to get nicer sooner or later. But it just feels like Spring isn't coming. Yes, the 50's would be much better than what we are getting lately.

They've switched the forecast and now tomorrow will be nice (one TV weather guy disagrees) and the next good day will be Easter. I do hope April is better than March.

Sometimes I think those weather guys don't have a clue. Often the forecasts vary from station to station. I do hope tomorrow and the rest of the week are nice out as I have lots to do in the garden.

Me, too! My dahlia friend insists he'd be just as right as the professionals if he used a dart board. I think he's right.

Squinting at the ground I spied a wee larkspur germinate. I would love it if there were a ton of them in with the Iris that are all in the blue family.
