Sometimes a NOID is just, and always will be, a NOID.
Some years back I ordered 'Sweet Orange Spice'. I waited patiently for blooms (they were tiny rhizomes when purchased), but when the first of the three plants finally came into bloom (2012 - was it really that far back?), it was clearly NOT 'Sweet Orange Spice'. (All of them were in pots in too much shade in my side yard, which is why only one of them bloomed.)
The blooms looked... strange... unlike any iris I had ever seen before. When searching the grower's database, I learned that this was probably a 'Space Age' iris. (Apologies to you iris experts for my ignorance... I am more into daylilies.) I tried to figure out what the plant possibly could be (based on the seller's offerings), and then I contacted the seller to determine if my possible ID was correct.
The answer came back, 'No'.... my NOID was an unnamed seedling. No other information (as to possible parentage) was forthcoming.
