Arlyn, I didn't even notice the spider when I took the picture. He looks at home.
Tom, Yes, I will post more pics as they bloom. I could take pictures to Jackie (the nice lady who has given them to me) and she could tell me what the names are. She has told me that she has paid as much as $25 for a single rhizome, cheap compared to many Daylilies. I'm not hybridizing with them, just enjoying the blooms and the great fragrance.

Good I look forward to seeing your pictures. Mine are a ways off yet except for the little ones.

Your little yellow one in the group shot reminds me a lot of Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris (Iris 'Cache of Gold')
The first mini gold one looks like a different iris, from what I can tell, it looks like the beards are solid yellow while the one in the group shout looks like the ends of the beard are white. The clump shot also looks like a paler yellow than the group shot one.

This was sold to me as Wabash, which it is not. It's a sweet historic though.

Thanks, for the nice comments. I just noticed another blooming out back, a nice one.
Sue, I know that I have at least three different yellow dwarf Iris, Jackie told me that one is a rebloomer but it has not for me.

I think it is Ink Patterns, but I am such a dork and didn't keep the tag.

What do ya think--is my niod a match for Gale's noid Rolling on the floor laughing
and could it be Ink Patterns?
(it really looks much more purple than blue so I have been reluctant to call it that even though I swear that I remember it was "ink" something)

OK, now I had to look up "plicata". Yes Dirt, I would say that it looks the same.

Not sure, My Ink Patterns doesn't have that many veins in the falls, and is more of a blue violet color. Check out Autumn Circus.

Tom, you may be right, mine did rebloom last year (the first in the three I have had it) and Autumn Circus is listed as a rebloomer. Pictures on line look very close, some a little more blue that purple, though.

Wow it really does look like the Autumn Circus pics in the DB Thumbs up and that seems a much better match than inky something
I don't get rebloom here, but that's not terribly meaningful in zone 5

Question about beard color--
is it diagnostic? or pathognomonic or whatever the right term is for aiding in the identification of an iris?
it says it is supposed to be white, but I'm not seeing them as white on the pics in the DB...

and I have a little SDB that I know was sold to me as 'Boo' (because I have an electronic record of that one Hilarious! ) and it is the only SDB that I have so it's not like I can have them mixed up--anyway, that one says it is supposed to have a cream-yellow beard and mine is pretty blue. Actually the iris is pretty blue and I'm thinking it might not even be 'Boo' at all (which would be kinda disappointing because I bought it for the dang name but that's an irrelevant and long and embarrassing story) and that I should request that my photo be removed from the DB.

So question about another iris

I think it looks a whole lot more like 'Big Blue Eyes' than anything else...What do you fine folks who actually know about irises think?

Yes, the beards are very helpful.

Lots of 'Boo' images here to compare, http://wiki.irises.org/bin/vie... yours does look different.

Beards can be very helpful in eliminating possible contenders for an id. But must look at the entire beard--texture, layers of color and such. Some are tipped with a different color, and can be very heavy or very light. Some tipping is only in the throat. Some have 3 layers to them. Look for heavy, thick, thin/sparse, "unkempt" and other texture issues. They are definitely much more than just the main color one sees at first glance!
