Still warm here. Falling leaves in the forecast for the next 6 weeks or so from what I can tell from the trees. The early spring rains/flooding gave the trees a boost. Seems they all sport extra leaves. And I get to pick up each and every one of them!

I worked from 10-4 gathering 8 large tarps worth of leaves off the ground and off the roof. I dragged them out to the forest. It's getting thick and deep with leaves back there.

I am showered clean and doped up on ibuprofen. I was going to bake Thanksgiving pies tonight but I don't have any more energy to stand upright! I will stay in for tomorrow's rainy day to bake and cook.

Thanks Karen, Ginny and Ken Smiling Mother Nature has been nice with the temporary reprieve from yard clean-up.

It has been a milder and cool Fall weather, some Spring bulbs are wide awake. Some of my Spring blooming succulents are also in blooming mode now.

Some roses still blooming here. Otherwise that is it. My pepper plants have frozen to death these past few nights. I am surprised they lasted this long.

Keith, your garden is nicely winding down.

One of my caladium containers is done..but one is still doing fine, taking its sweet time this year to rest. I still have my pineapple outside, giving it some chance to enjoy our better humidity conditions and some rains when it comes.

Since today was Thanksgiving Day I didn't really work in the yard much. But I managed to find a job where I could stay clean and not mess up my good clothes. I snapped a line and marked where each fence post hole will be dug. Gonna need 12 fence posts for the first part of the design. That's enough work for one day. Hilarious!

After that I searched the internet for ideas to build rabbit cages - that's garden-realted since rabbit manure goes into the compost that feeds the garden. A man who raises rabbits made several YouTube videos that showed how he makes rabbit cages from the wire closet shelving. Not only is this man extrememly attractive but he's smart and creative, too. Thumbs up

"Attractive" is more than the cover of a book; look at the substance of the man; he's good to his family, creative, thrifty, he raises plants and animals for food, and his dog loves him...yep, lots of good qualities. I tip my hat to you.

Yep, watch all his videos when you have time. He has some good ideas about solar power.
I just came back from Home Depot where I was pricing stuff. Had a conversation with a woman who raised rabbits. I described the man in the YouTube video and half-way through my description she said, "Oh, he's a teddy bear of a man!"

Today is a day off from gardening but I am shopping and pricing some stuff for a future garden project.

Oh! What's that?! ....oops...
@lauriebasler thank you!
Good news to all, we qualified for the home. We had the credit, the estimate, mortgage loan and even the realtor, then we find the down payment is nearly $6,000. Not including cost of inspection.
We don't have half of that.
So we tried a few other homes and loans but didn't qualify for any additional aid.
So we lost it all. We have to go back to the drawing board and save more money. That means I'm stuck here for another 3 months at least.
No more lawn care either. It's been in the high 30's all week and cloudy. Yuck. I miss my flowers! Crying Crying
Lord please let this seed not be a weed!

1hugaholic, I feel bad that you did not get the home. If you need help to cut back on expenses to save money let me know. I'm a really cheap person.

Today my DD came to the house to help dig the holes for the fence. Working together we dug 7 holes and installed 7 fence posts, all plumb and level and almost perfect.

Took my dogs for a ride in the car so they could bark their fool heads off and sleep good tonight and...wow...came up on a house with a lovely pile of trash. I stopped, secured the dogs, and piled a ton of lumber into my little car. The homeowner was also getting rid of some metal bench tops. I took the best 4 of the bunch. Quite a haul. Thumbs up

Gonna take a day or two off to recuperate before working on the fence again.

So sorry to hear about the house Britnay. It's amazing what you can "live without" if you want to save for the down payment. You don't want to be "house poor" that all you can do after you have a house is pay for it and not have enough to do anything else, so saving up is a good thing even though it is disappointing now.
