Thank You!
This is the front side yard fence. It will only define a space that does not belong to the guy next door. Whistling
Had originally planned for cedar pickets by DD opted for Confederate Jasmine growing on wire fence material as it is evergreen and provides privacy.

Doing this job in stages as I can afford the materials. The next stage will bring the fence to the side of the house, and (hopefully) will have a pergola trellis up and over the gate. Crossing Fingers! The pergola trellis has to be strong as it needs to support the Evergreen Wisteria/Callerya reticulata. The gate cost only five bucks; the plant was a whole dollar - but it took almost 3 years to identify the darn thing.

Maybe find a handyman who likes gardening, and pay him for the things that are tough for you two to do. Ideally it would be great if you could pay him with homegrown veggies or maybe a home cooked or two.

Finding decent gardening and hardscaping help is hard, but I know you love to meet people and talk to them, so I'm hoping you can run across a good guy or two who can help. Tell your daughter to be on the lookout too.

Greene, this is my fence of the Confederate Jasmine, I have to trim it twice a year to keep it in control, sure smells good when in bloom.

Drooling That is gorgeous, Kiseta. Thanks for sharing. You both are reminding me that I need to get mine planted soon. Ah, Darn. I just remembered that I went out of town this weekend at the spur of the moment and forgot to cover the roots of my mandevilla. We had a hard frost here at least 2 nights this past weekend. Thumbs down

Poor greene... Sad I took a tumble and have to take it easy for a few days - nothing is broken so no worries.
Instead of working outside I plan to spend the time working on a design for the fence.

If anyone has any ideas to grow a vine up and over a gate let me know. I can't finish the design until I can picture it in my mind. I plan to work with 4x4 lumber for the uprights and 2x6 for the pergola part on top.

Greene - hope you feel better soon!

Did you try googling "arbor gate" ? Lots of different ideas come up (some almost look possible to DIY, Hilarious! )
