I almost suggested that we move that particular conversation to one of the "Sandbox" forums, but for some reason, thought that we are not supposed to suggest moving posts. Let's not do a "Dental" forum, though. I have enough trouble keeping up with garden-related posts. Whistling

Yes, I'm sure Doc does not want to return to his former occupation. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Gardening is his profession now. Thumbs up Okay back to daily gardening. Today I had to get my grocery shopping down, so had very little time for gardening. I did get to repot a couple of plants though.

It seems to me everytime I go to the supermarket it ends up as all day grocery day. First the shopping and then having to carry it all in and put it away.

Only "gardening" I did today was to send an email to a local plant swap friend to send pictures of the Peperomia that I've been propagating for the April swap. That's more than I did yesterday so it's a small improvement. Thumbs up

Another day in the yard. Hurray! There's nothing like having time off to play in the yard and a deadline (cold weather) to make. That's the best of both worlds. I managed to find 3 more full tarps worth of leaves. Considering I have been working on the leaves among other things for 3 straight days, I believe the neighborhood is blowing their leaves into our yard! Whistling

But now every nook and crannie is now clear of leaves. The yard looks good enough for a party! I'm sure all that will change in 3 days. The greenhouse got a good washing so the winter sun will be able to shine through the panels. Insulation replaced, both in and on the north wall outside, all the tender plants have been tucked in. I did well and didn't gain tons of new plants in 2016. Only one Hawaiian Air Plant from a neighbor and a Maui Gold Pineapple start from my Maui Pineapple. I am pleased with the new organization of the greenhouse. Those that won't need any water are far in the back. Those that need water all winter long are in the front. Those that can dry out some but would like some water are in the middle. This way I hope not to forget anyone. And the potting bench is free of plants so I can use it. Now that I know where plants will be placed, all I need is the drip system.

Just as I was blowing off the last of the debris on the hardscapes, as predicted, at 5 pm, the first rain drops fell. They are predicting 5 inches for us by the end of Monday. I am going to take a dose of IBU and head for the shower. I'll be indoors all weekend, making soup, and thinking about putting up the tree and turning my house into a Winter Wonderland!

I got some of the branches picked up but it was cold work. Stopped at HD and got two phaleanopsis orchids for $15. Very nice pants. Also 2 very heavily budded Christmas cactus for $4.98 each. Internet was down most of Saturday but was back on this morning. By the way the grocery stores I visit also have nice plants available including orchids.

HI All - I'm new to the NGA! I really wanted to garden today but ended up putting up Christmas Lights - I have a question tho - I neglected to get my bulbs in the ground in October & November and was wondering if I should plant them and cross my fingers or just chuck'em...
Let me know! Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome Bree! My recommendation would be to plant them. You are in a fairly mild zone and I would expect you to have a great deal of success at this time.

Welcome to NGA, @BreeKauz !

I agree with Gary -- I think your bulbs will do fine if you plant them now. Smiling

Welcome! to NGA Bree. You're not the only one who has yet to plant bulbs. I'm in the same boat and I'm sure that there are many others, but we do aim to start digging soon. Thumbs up

Welcome! Bree! Gigs luck with your bulbs! Good advice here!

Going on 3 days of rain and 50°. I stare at my yard through the window wanting to clean up the muck and leaves the storms have blown in. I really want to decorate for Christmas outside. But it will look like fall on my lawn for a few weeks more. Me and my backpack blower will have a challenge again to clear the yellow leaves and make it look like winter.

There is a raw wind this morning. Temp is 23 but feels like 8. Not doing anything outside today. I have some amaryllis and other plants budding and blooming indoors. My plant "fix" is taken care of.

We were going to run some errands but what I really want to do is play outside!! I've opened the GH windows for some fresh air. I think it might actually reach 70º today! Hurray! Hurray!
