I stayed inside cleaning up the shutters to ready the for painting. But I had to get outside to work on the greenhouse for plant protection in the coming cold and rain. With one set of shutters to go, I bolted outside and got half the greenhouse clean. I brought out some greenhouse plants so they could get fresh air and rain. I worked until dark. DH made dinner then I finished up with the last shutters. I hope to get the plants in tomorrow. Supposed to get cooler fast.

Worked from 9-5 blowing leaves, mowing the lawn and dumping leaves. I can't believe I did the very same thing for just as long, just last week. It's taking me liner as I get older. I took a break from 12-2:30 to eat and go to the DDS for a cleaning. (No cavities!) I got back home and finished up dumping the leaves and started moving plants into the greenhouse. This year, my 3rd season, I finally have a little order to the plant placement. Plants that need little or no water i.e. plumeria and adenium were placed in a sunny spot farthest away. Those that need water from time to time will be in the center of the gh. And those that need a lot of water will be in front and easily accessible. Yeah, well. We'll see. Haha As I place everything inside, instead of being well- organized it'll probably end up being shoved into every nook and cranny!

You had a good day, Cheryl. The "No Cavities Club" is a great organization! My greenhouses are organized too, but the only space not having plants is a walkway down the center.

Yeah but, @drdawg the bad news is I need a $1600 crown and the leaves will continue to fall. Sad

@legalily There comes a time when cavities slow down and crowns speed up. At least there is no root canal involved! And the leaves will always fall this time of year. I think it's all part of that Circle of Life I keep hearing about. Only, my map runs North South, East, and West. No circles, lots of zig zags.

More golden leaves dumped on the front yard over night. It looks more like Fall than ever! There is a cold snap coming. I will pack the greenhouse today and tomorrow. But I will wait til after the cold front blows through hoping it will bring down all the leaves on the front tree so that I can get Santa and the Penguins out there. Santa never did sport the fall leaves look very well. I might get the lights up on the bushes though.

And will someone PLEASE take away these Candy Cane Hershey's Kisses away from my computer area?!

We have a couple of warm days and nights so my tender little plants are out in the front yard soaking up some sun. They are looking very happy.

I spent two days just looking out the back window. After living in a mobile home park for over 15 years surrounded by pine trees, it is a joy to look at a huge back yard covered in an assortment of colorful leaves. Several gold, yellow and orange trees are vying to be my favorites. After admiring them for a few more days I will mulch/mow/bag them for the compost pile, but gosh, they are just so pretty right now. Sighing! (happy sigh)

Yes, Cheryl, the leaves will keep falling, at least for a while. Very few of my oaks are dropping leaves. My maples are dropping leaves like crazy, one variety (northern) in the front yard has all red leaves, and my six potted ones (southern) have all yellow leaves.

Sorry about the crown-need. Life just can't be perfect, can it. Sighing!

It has turned much colder after several days of rain. We have also had strong winds. I need to spend some time picking up branches. I came home fron work one morning to find a 4" diameter branch leaning against my front door. I knew I hadn't placed it there when I left for work the previous night.

I sure am having fun in the yard during my winter vacation time. I know what I will be doing every day when I retire. I will be in my yard! Yes, there are closets to clean and floors to wash. And the big project of removing all the carpet from the upstairs. And of course decorating and baking for Christmas. But I'd rather be outside on these cool sunny days.

I'm glad it got dark outside or I'd just keep working until I collapse. I slept in til 9:30 but jumped right into it soon after breakfast. The greenhouse is now stuffed. But I have 3 more plants to find room for. 2 will get in there, the third is a huge cane begonia that may have to be cut back to fit. I hate to do that, it's still blooming. I managed to keep the surface of the potting bench clear of plants. And only the 3 pudica will have to go into the garage where it can get doses of sunshine with the door open, alongwith the clivia who likes and needs the cold to bloom.

The cold front will arrive with rain tomorrow night. But I already saw the gray clouds building up. I will have to get out there to finish cleaning up the piles of leaves before it rains all weekend through Monday. Muddy wet leaves are no fun!

I actually came over to say I got my votes in, and now for best in show. None of the pictures I picked made it to best in show, but there was so many good pictures. Every time they would scramble, I would pick different ones. I think its great so many people sent in pictures. Thumbs up

Pam, have you checked with the U of F School of Dentistry? The school may well be capable and willing to do the necessary extractions and implants. That's how general dentists and oral surgeons train. It will take longer to do everything this way, but the price is right.

On the gardening front. still dry as a bone. Its really taking a toll. Fingers crossed for next week. Ive got my two trees planted....those were some big 'cuttings'. Beautiful. Ive got them secured, so they are sturdy in the pot. Thanks.
I guess I should have explained the trees were from your plumeria sale. Very nice.
Editing again to say 'your' sale above, refers to the great grower and shipper, drdawg. ;-)

Over the years I became more and more a fan of implants and less a fan of "heroic" root canal, build-up, and finally crown/bridge. When I say heroic, I mean trying to salvage a tooth that might last more than a few years but probably won't. Dentists are/should be trained to recognize this situation. It is a shame that your dentists can't come to a conclusion that benefits you the best, long-term.

I am glad you are happy with the two plants, Pam. I hope they grow and bloom for you well, as these two varieties have done for me.

Can we move some of this conversation to the Dental Forum? Please. Blinking Sad

I took another day off from gardening today. This weekend I will begin the leaf mulching/mowing/removal and add it all to the compost pile. Thumbs up
