Won't be a problem for us at 2200ft but last time we had a quake in Chile the water came up over the roads and into stores in Kailua Kona. The water in Hilo bay went back and forth like a bath tub and the part of the harbor on Maui left some fish high and dry. This time it will arrive at night so not so visual. Have to wait for our early morning news. Hopefully it will not happen. For now its just a watch.
We do have flood warnings and advisories up for the South and West sides of the island. Yesterday Kailua Kona was hit with rain coming down at almost 4 inches an hour. Lots of local flooding on roads. Some roads are closed again this afternoon with another round of heavy showers.
No big organised storms in the area, just heavier than normal showers.
El Nino has really messed up our weather.
