Geraniums just got moved out of the sun for the rest of summer. They can't take this heat. They look baaad!

pirl said:Tarev - your relaxing area looks so cool and inviting!

Lyn - I skipped the umbrella since I figured I'd be out just long enough to water a few plants and put the sprinkler in the rose garden. In order to get the sprinkler into the rose garden I had to remove two trellises (that block the deer from eating the roses) but to do that I had to prune some wild Rugosa branches...you know how it goes. So I was out for 30 minutes, no umbrella, and ended up with a bag of rose trimmings and more baby's breath.

Thanks Arlene! I just do wish it is cool..it is onerously hot and super dry. Rolling my eyes.

I understand, Arlene. The domino affect always kicks in when the weather is the worst. Never fails.

I've been thinking of getting one of those canopy things to work under, but hot is hot. I am running in and out of the house to move the hoses. I just can't stay out there even in the shade.

It's the same up here, Tarev. I washed down all of the plants before I started the deep watering because I know they will take in moisture through the leaves. These are the days when I am wondering why I planted so many plants ... Rolling my eyes.

Actually yesterday was not as bad as Sunday and today is not as bad as yesterday. Still too hot to do much in the garden though except pick some tomatoes.

I'll attempt to go out after dinner and water some roses. It's strange to begin gardening so late in the day. Tomorrow will be much better.

No real weather today. No trade winds, lots of clouds and the chance of showers. Might be warm and humid later. Hopefully trade winds will return tomorrow and freshen the air.
Might get some humid, tropical rain on the weekend as the remnants of Tropical Storm Enrique approaches the islands. Not a storm just wet weather.

I helped DD move out of her apartment today. Stairs and 98ยบ. I thought SHE should have bought ME lunch instead!! Found her Sublet-er didn't water the schefflera tree so it died. So sad.

Today is a beautiful Hawaiian day in the rainforest. Gentle trade winds, blue sky with white puffy clouds drifting by. Temp in the low 80s. Great day to work in the shade or snorkel over the reefs as the sun sparkles on the calm Pacific ocean.
I can't swim so will stick to the cool of the rainforest at 2200ft!

What? No one has weather to report since July 23rd? Hilarious! Hilarious!

We had been in a humid spell but today it almost feels like fall. Temps are down and the humidity is gone. Probably will not last.

Not much has changed here in the Tropical Houston area. We got some rain here and we're out of the century mark. Mostly it cooled down to the mid-ninety's in the day and mid 70's at night. And humidity. Always humidity.

We've been paying more attention to the fires around here. Thank goodness we finally got some rain to help the firefighters get things under control! Heh, today is one of the few times I've ever seen the forecast call for 100% chance of rain. Hilarious!

Woofie ...

According to the papers most of our fires are out, but not really. They will be patrolling them until the rains hit because the fires were so hot, they say the roots of the trees are still burning and cause a flare up.

Yesterday, the day temps were down to 68F. By the end of next week, they are forecasting 99F.

There is a wonderful site that has lots of interesting information about the progress on specific fires. It has periodic updates, maps, and information on the number of acres involved, the number of firefighters, equipment being utilized (our closest fire has nearly 900 firefighters on site, 4 helicopters and 25 dozers Smiling ). If you're interested, it's here: http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/
You can click on the headings to sort by state, unit, or incident.

Daytime was warm and somewhat humid. Did cool down some by 5 but in a few days it should really cool back down to temps we are supposed to be having this time of year.
