The ground is soaked from the rain that poured down early this morning. Now it has cleared but is humid again. Two days we have had little humidity, now it is back again.

Yes, it is. We didn't even have five minutes of very light rain but I'm sitting here with the window open and can feel the humidity increasing. No digging today or I'd pass out.

A few light showers, some sun and the tradewinds are blowing. Not nearly as humid as it has been. Temp in the mid 70s.
This is how it should be at 2200ft in the rain forest. Last week was high 80s and very humid.

At 9:41 AM it was 93.2 with a "feels like 110". The garden will be missing me while this heat wave continues.

I'm heading out just to turn on water for the rose garden since it's not covered by the irrigation system. I just might use an umbrella to provide some relief from the sun. Now the temperature has dropped to 87. Hard to say, "Hurray".

Shoot -- only 87? It's 84 here right now... and sunny, and yeah, it's always humid here when it's hot but the garden was getting pretty dry, so we went out and hooked up the pump and watered everything from the water barrels. We need some different kind of pump or something, so we can use the barrels with the soaker hoses; with the one we have now the only way to do it is manually and can't even use the sprayer nozzle on the end of the hose. I'm sure there's a better way, but we don't really need to do it all that often (maybe twice a year at the most) and just haven't been inspired to look into it Smiling

Tarev - your relaxing area looks so cool and inviting!

Lyn - I skipped the umbrella since I figured I'd be out just long enough to water a few plants and put the sprinkler in the rose garden. In order to get the sprinkler into the rose garden I had to remove two trellises (that block the deer from eating the roses) but to do that I had to prune some wild Rugosa branches...you know how it goes. So I was out for 30 minutes, no umbrella, and ended up with a bag of rose trimmings and more baby's breath.
