I have an I pad and I touch different different areas on the screen and sometimes it takes me to advertisements, or to someone's profile, or sometimes I give a thumbs up for something I should not have. I felt stupid when I gave a thumbs up for Leslie's post the other day about having put down Shortstop, but then in the same post she got a box from Dee so it was ok in the long run.
I wish there was a " I'm sorry" or "we're thinking of you" icon that we could use!
I guess I could use the Group hug Icon for the we're thinking of you....

Cleta, Oh, like "Sizzling on a hot platter, he eyed the steak hungrily." or

Throw the cow over the fence some hay. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

The first has a dangling participle , the 'ing' form of a verb.
The second has a prepositional phrase (over the fence) that is confusing. Are you talking abut a cow that is (over the fence) or the throwing some hay (over the fence) . You just have a confusing modif ier .

It's weird but I don't mind the improper grammar if I can make out what they're trying to say but bad spelling drives me crazy. My daughter does it all the time. She tries, bless her heart but sometimes...shesh! Her latest one? Offely=awfully.

And Patrick, you will find that, as a group, we are very very bad at staying on topic. Any topic. Though we do always come back to iris talk. Sooner or later. Big Grin

Omigosh you guys -- you're making me laugh. Thank you -- thank you. 39, eh???? Not likely!!!! Rolling my eyes.

And no -- the Hub did not take me out to dinner -- my sister and niece and my brother and my Mom all shared a dinner with us, and my brother made me a birthday cake with my childhood nick-names on it. It was a lovely evening spent with the people that I love.

But it was a weekend of very mixed emotions. On Friday, our grand-daughter Kristin died after a long battle with breast cancer. She was only 38 years old. Put my birthday in real perspective. We were not able to travel to Chicago for the wake and funeral, which makes us both very sad. She will be buried tomorrow. A chapter of our lives is closed, and I am so sad for her husband, children and parents.

Life is good. We're not guaranteed a single day, are we? And we so need to be grateful for every day -- even with our aches and pains, and our Iris losses, and our issues with rain/no rain.

And I am -- grateful, that is. I planted some of Dee's rhizomes this afternoon. Planting rhizomes, or seeds or whatever, is an act of faith that there will be a tomorrow. And that we will be there to see it.

Thank you for being my friends.

Mary Ann,
I am so very sorry! I truly hate the word cancer! If there is anything I can do (donation to a cancer group) please let me know.
