Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. I agree Chuck and I can see that I will be busy digging up the "back 40" Hilarious!
I still have most of my daylilies blooming, with just a few of the early ones finished.
I have been collecting daylilies for about 20 years, and I have a few old ones that I still love and give me joy every year. Here are a few:

Close Up
I love this daylily. It is just so pretty and I find the subtle shading very pleasing. It always seems to look perfect.

Date Book
This is an oldie and I remember being so pleased that it actually was pink. When I first started collecting so many of the "pinks" were very peach.

Caramba
I have always wondered if this was truly Caramba. It was sold to me as that, but it seems so recurved. The flower is huge!

Great pictures. Soon the gardens will be done for the year, but it has been a marvelous show for the entire season. I gave up on a "wish list" as I would have to dig up another acre of land, and I don't think I am up to that, lol. I will just enjoy all the beautiful pics that everyone shares here, and benefit from all the knowledge of the members here.

Thanks to everyone for another great growing season.

touchofsky - So glad you joined us here on the Daylily Forum! I love to hear about and see photos of what other gardeners from around the world are growing in their garden beds!

I also love your above choices for daylily flower colors. Those sunset colors are some of my absolute favorite color blends! Lovey dubby Thumbs up

Thank you, Becky. When I first started buying daylilies in the early 1990's, I desperately wanted pink ones. When I would order something from a catalogue described as "pink", I would end up with peachy ones with a pink blush. I now have a bed devoted to peaches and pinks and blends, and in some ways, it has turned out to be one of my favourite beds. It is funny how sometimes a "disappointment" can turn into a treasure.

I bet that is really a pretty bed with the foliage setting off those colors. Those shades are some of my favorites also. When I started, I wanted no yellows because I thought they were so common, lol. Now Banana Peel, First Knight, and Ram are some of my favorites.

I never bought many yellows, but a few that were bonus plants have turned out to be favourites, such as Carlolyn Criswell, who seems to bloom non stop for me. A few years ago, l bought Majestic Move, and it has been vigorous and beautiful. I have three yellows grouped, Frozen Jade, Mary Todd and Happy Returns and that makes an eye catching display when in full bloom!

Well I went out with the camera this morning in the first real sunshine we've had in ages. My first stop was Imperial Lemon because this one is so imposing and blooms over a very long period. Guess what! Yesterday's blooms had gone over and there was not a single one of the dozens of buds that had deigned to open! Anyway here's an older photo

And a mystery! This one was sold to me by a very well-reputed garden centre as Bela Lugosi but does not have a green throat and definitely does not look like the pictures I've seen. It has a very good bud count and though the early blooms did not open fully (dull, damp weather) it is now flowering its socks off (is that just an English expression?).

Strawberry Candy was beautiful this year and it does glow. Another one with the same coloring for me is Jan Marie. It's smaller but that great coloring is there especially in the evening light or when it's cloudy. I couldn't get the color right either!!

A few from last evening:

Christina Ann Pottmeyer
This daylily has a small bloom, but I think an unusual colour, and it looks pretty in a grouping with Garden of Gethsemane and Dream Book.

Siloam David Kirchoff
I like the colour on this one, and I keep it because of that, although the foliage always starts to look yellow into August. I don't have it in a prominent location because of that trait. I have a very dry garden, so perhaps that is a problem for the foliage.

Strawberry Candy
This was taken last evening in low light. This blooms well for me in a fairly shaded part of the garden.

Inwood
I went to the daylily farm to buy Blackthorne, but they were sold out, and the owner recommended Inwood instead. I have to admit I was disappointed at the time, but Inwood has been a real performer for me, and I love it.

Real Purple Star
It seems this may have been mislabeled.
I bought this at Canadian Tire. For people who are not familiar with Canadian Tire, it is a auto repair shop, auto parts store, hardware store, home equipment store, sporting good store, etc, etc, and a Canadian institution Smiling . They also have gardening supplies and, in the spring, a plant section. This daylily was an impulse purchase and I didn't expect much from it, but it has turned out to be surprisingly pretty. I have it next to an old-fashioned daylily, Darius, and they make a nice garden picture.
