I bought this at Canadian Tire. For people who are not familiar with Canadian Tire, it is a auto repair shop, auto parts store, hardware store, home equipment store, sporting good store, etc, etc, and a Canadian institution Smiling

Yep, very familiar with Canadian Tire, there twice today Hilarious!

Your 'Real Purple Star' is very pretty - I don't see a watermark like that on the AHS picture of it:

Hilarious! It reminds me somewhat of 'Malaysian Monarch'.

Becky,
Still another computer's photos to look on for the yellow group, but I did find this photo which is more a photo of hostas, but the yellow group is in the middle of the photo ...

I would take a new photo, but unfortunately Happy Returns has finished blooming.

Sooby,
I have Malaysian Monarch, and you are right. Malaysian Monarch didn't bloom for me this year. It think the bed is getting a bit too shaded. I have my order in for my husband to do some tree trimming this fall, so hopefully I will get more bloom from that bed next year. Anyway, if it isn't Real Purple Star, I wonder what it is?

Halfprice said:And a mystery! This one was sold to me by a very well-reputed garden centre as Bela Lugosi but does not have a green throat and definitely does not look like the pictures I've seen. It has a very good bud count and though the early blooms did not open fully (dull, damp weather) it is now flowering its socks off (is that just an English expression?).

Beautiful flower -- that color is right up my alley!

As for your expression...I've only ever heard it as something like "the flower will knock your socks off" or "it's flowering its butt off"...but what you said is sort of a cross between the two that I've never heard used that way. Rolling my eyes.

It was a rainy morning here, so it wasn't the best day for pictures. I guess my flowers knew that, though, because there were only 5 blooms today. Here's one that was pretty decent as of around 8:30pm:

touchofsky - Amazing bloom photos! And thank you for posting a photo of your hosta garden and the daylily garden beyond it in the photo! That is a gorgeous landscape! I really think you did an incredible job with the garden beds! So peaceful looking! Thanks for finding that one to post for me! I love looking at garden photos. Figuring out placement in my own garden seems to be on my mind constantly. Love seeing other gardeners layouts! Thank You! Lovey dubby Thumbs up

Good morning everyone.

It's been a minute since I had anything to post. But a walk around the lawn had me discovering one last hold out this morning.

Not sure what you'd call it, trying to double or poly. It only had the one extra petal and no extra sepal. Not a true poly? But BEAutiful still!

Lovey dubby loving this new addition though...

Have a great day everyone! I tip my hat to you.

It's not an extra petal, it is a petaloid stamen (note there are only five normal stamens and you can actually see the anther on the petaloid tissue, effectively the sixth stamen). So it's partially doubling.

I tip my hat to you. It's a pretty one. What is interesting to me with yours, and with some doubles here, is that the petaloid tissue still shows an edge.

Thanks again... I can't wait to get it in a permanent place in the new lawn. It's potted right now as are most of mine. Moving to new home in November with additional gardening space.

More space, more Daylily's... Hurray!

Beautiful flower Stan. Fun looking up close at the different variations. Good luck with your move!! I will probably be moving in the next two years also, but I have to downsize and that's going to be sooo hard. How do you pick a few favorites from 250 daylilies?
