Goodness Audrey you are awesome with a can of paint. Are you spray painting or brushing it on? What color green are you using? Sorry for all the questions but I have to do some idea borrowing from you. Rolling on the floor laughing

I would like to borrow you for a day. I have some outdoor decor that need to be painted. I really have to get to it before winter or they are going to break. I paint them every year and put some poly on them so I can leave them outside for the winter for winter interest.

I painted them by brush with a paint mix I made with gold and green. I have it left over from the cement planters I made this spring. The gold was a Sherwin Williams indoor paint and the green was some outdoor emerald green latex.

I think I might have my husband talked into building me a sun room!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hurray! I have 3 sets of double French doors and most of the wood already. I would be small like a 10x10. I could put a little bistro table and sit with all my favorites. I just need to find a good sun roof. Lovey dubby

Now you have impressed me even more.....you mixed your own color.

French doors.....Sun room.....Sounds dreamy. I call my sun room my morning room because every morning it is where I sit sipping my morning tea. It is where I keep most of my plants because 90% of my plants are succulents. My room is not that big it is only 12 x 14 I have a round glass top bamboo table and 4 bamboo chairs.

You are my idol. With each of your pic of plantings I can just see myself sitting with my morning tea and smiling at the beautiful arrangements and just the right pots to make the plants pop.

You are doing what I love most about my plants in the winter. To have them in beautiful pots and arranged for full enjoyment.

I am heading to Lowes today to pick up some paint samples. I have some big floor pots that I use for my houseplants. I need a decorative look for the dining room and Living room for those big boys. I am using my small decorative pots for the morning room.

It totally beats a whole tray of little black pots. I have two more trays to contend with. My bestie brought me a red glass last night! I had the holes drilled when I first opened my eyes this morning. I will post some pics tomorrow when I get it planted up. It is hard to believe I have not done that already.

Yes I like the pots to be pretty in the house especially. If I had those little black pots to me it is the same thing as leaving the box on a new tv I just purchased.

You guys have such pretty pots. Love the shoes and the green ones. My containers aren't looking their best now. I took a number of larger ones out of the containers and gave them to a SIL. Added some cuttings to get rooted over winter.

Susan, your ogon sedum looks so pretty! It is one of my faves. I have a hard time with that one. It really hates our Texas heat. This is the first year I have managed to pull it through the summer.

None of my plants I needed to do something with matched the red glass. So I ended up taking more cuttings Rolling my eyes. Geeze! I am such a goober.

I would be more interested in the box than a T.V. I have never even owned one. But I agree black plastic pots are silly when you can make things fun.

Susan,
Those are beautiful. Love, Love, the metal stands

Audrey,
I love the goblets. I almost picked one up at the thrift store the Saturday but some lady in front of me

Hilarious! Okay bad comparison.. How about if you purchased a pot and left it in the box because it was sold in the box? Nursery pots are for the nursery not for inside my house.

Thumbs up I agree! You know, I started making these things to save space in the winter, but I think all I am doing is just creating more and more pots. I will be having a plant sale later this month so I am hoping it will go well and I will have less stuff to take care of. It is harder to sell succulents this time of the year. People go nuts over my stuff in the spring but not in the fall when everyone is starting to bring in their plants. I cring every time someone asks if they will freeze. I say yes and there face falls before they walk away.

You all have made me realize how boring my pots are. And I thought I was being creative by using just different sizes and shapes of teracotta pots.

Inspiring! Hurray!

I've had really good luck with Ogon sedum in Austin and Houston. I keep it in the shade or very light morning sun. I also water it more than other sedums.

When my sister brought her daughter home we all said it was the ugliest baby we had ever seen. But we had to say something so for a month we all said "Awww its a baby" Rolling on the floor laughing But she is a beautyful young lady now. So happy she grew out of the ugly.

So I will say ......... "Awwww it is a table" Lovey dubby Maybe you could sell them more if you tell them they will only have to water them once a month will help them be open to caring for them. I know that is the plus for me. I hate to water plants in the house. Which is why I try not to have drainage holes.

Pattie terracotta can be very pretty. As a collection it can look more authentic as a jungle plant collection.

Construction, what construction? All I see are pots of succulents that are to die for. Audrey, people like that do not deserve to get those plants as they are not plant people. They want instant gratification without the work. But, like Cinta said, they don't realize that it really isn't much work to overwinter them. Give them bright light in a cool room and don't water much, if at all. Last year, I kept mine under lights in my garage. Those did better than the ones in the house, as they didn't try to grow much (they needed no water) and so didn't get etiolated. I'm going to keep most, if not all of my pots in the garage this winter.

I keep mine in the sun room it is on a different heat system and I keep the thermostat low it is very cool at night. I rarely water them at all. They get water once in Jan, and again in March by May they are ready to go outside.

Using a separate thermostat set to a cooler temp is a great idea, Cinta. I wish that I had a sunroom. In fact, I would prefer to have a sunroom rather than a separate greenhouse. My husband is dragging his feet in regard to getting me a greenhouse. He's afraid that I'm going to fill it up. And he's right. Whistling Hilarious! Rolling on the floor laughing So I know that he's not going to add a sunroom to the house. In fact, he's already giving me the evil eye, wondering where I'm going to house all of my tender plants this winter. I have more than I did last year. I have to admit that I don't have it all figured out yet. Blinking But, I'm working on it. Whistling

My husband knew what he was getting into when he married me, so I do not get to much flack from him. I am also the master at sneaking in new plants though. One day he told some friends that he probably would not even know if I got more. I was thinking Hurray! that was the green light to hit the stores! I really hope I get my sunroom this winter. I have a small greenhouse but I do not have electricity in it yet and we have to run cords from the house. That is not the safest thing to do and I think that is the only way I have him talked into it. Plus I have most of the materials already.

I like your guys ways of overwintering your pots. It is so much easier than my way. My way of going in and out with them for sun and cooler temps that really make some nice color on them and works for me. I consider it a good workout to keep me fit during the winter months. We are suppose to have a very wet and cold winter this year, so I will probably not be able to that so much this winter. Last year we barley had any room to function the house was so full on freezing nights. I love it though. I get to eat breakfast in my own little botanical garden and it helps with those winter grey days that I dread. Some days I feel like I must be part succulent. I need full sun to look and feel my best. I have no clue how northerners deal with that kind of cold. I have always lived in Texas so I really have no understanding of what living in snowy conditions feels like. I don't plan on finding out either!
