Haven't lost power again, and I'm sure thankful for that, because the temp is dropping! Plus, it's really hard to make coffee without power. We've now got a winter storm advisory until Friday evening. Not sure what that means, since they don't have a ton of snow in the forecast (maybe 4 inches), and it's actually supposed to get to the low 40s on Friday, but we're prepared, either way.

Maybe means a white Christmas!

Too bad we don't have a ski lift or tow rope to get back up the hill! Not that you would actually survive the trip down there, but it would be a lot of fun while it lasted!

The weather report says it will snow on Christmas, and I hope it does! I love a white Christmas!

Tow rope might be helpful..

I only know two Christmases, a gray, rainy PA Christmas or a sunny CA Christmas. I'm hoping for a cozy, rainy, CA Christmas. O.K., we had one white Christmas in PA. It was windy and bitter cold and not at all nice.


It went down to 35F last night. They are calling for a high of 66F.

49 this morning supposed to get to 62. And it's raining.

When I walked down to the bottom of the property last year, I was sure wishing that we had a tow rope to get back up the hill! I told Mark that if he didn't see me again by the next morning, he should roll some food and water down the hill, as I probably wouldn't be back! Thankfully, climbing back up wasn't wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, but snow would make it impossible to get back up here!

It's 24 degrees out, which really isn't too bad, but with the wind chill, it's 12 degrees. I think I'll stay inside today!

@flaflwrgrl Looks like we will just have to enjoy @Natalie's snow pictures. I took a peek at the weather forecast for Hot Springs Village and the forecast for Christmas day was a high of 70. (Of course you understand that is subject to change as I don't see how they can have it right 10 days in advance when they can't predict it 10 minutes in advance!)

November and December are breaking one record after another

Exactly!!! However, they have been sticking tight on this forecast for some time now.

Yes, but I have never had any communication with them. I don't even know how to contact them. My grandfather & his brother came over when my grandfather was around 20. They came through Ellis Island where, as usual, the last name was changed because of spelling & pronunciation. My grandfather loved it & stayed but his brother did not like it & went back. My aunt here went over to see our relatives there years ago. Daddy was born in Wisconsin and mom was born in Alabama & we lived in FL. In those times it was difficult to go all the way to Wisconsin to visit my dad's side of the family. We could not afford to fly a family of 5. In my childhood, we drove up there twice & Grandmother & grandfather drove down here once. Grandmother was dutch too but it was her parents who came over from "the old country" & settled in Michigan. I remember daddy mentioning a place --- I don't know how to spell it -- daddy pronounced it sky-ak.

It is lightly snowing, 19F degrees, could get heavier later, looks like lots of snow for Christmas.
