I bought nada this year. Im still upset that my plants got shipped late last year, my undefinable, is truely undefineable and barely findable. That pretty well took the fun out of it for me. I did weed and fertilize yesterday. Hope what Ive got does well. What I am going to enjoy, is looking at all of the pictures this year, maybe buy something on the cheap next year. Ive got so many seeds, I need to get thru them.
O my, I wish you all could hear the sandhill cranes flying overhead, even in the house, its loud and clear there are so many.

I have some plants coming but nowhere is it close to what James, Peter, and Betty will be getting this spring. Please post pics of your new daylilies when they bloom. I would love to see all of them. I am super excited about my new purchases. It's been awhile since I bought any new or recent introductions so some of these will be very special. I also got many seeds purchased from the LA that I can't wait to get them growing and into the garden. Hopefully they will turn out somewhat like their parents. I am so excited of all the seeds but the top 7 crosses for me have got to be:
Ahead's Keeper Mystery Bag (RFK Seedlings x various Judy Davisson's daylilies)
Pastor Z x Tet RFK
Cosmic Struggle x Tet Almira Buffalo Jones
Boomerang Effect x Pete's Electric Blue
Froggy x Green Icon
Curtis Noel x Red Star of Kryptonite
Wonder of It All x Angel on Board

I think I have a crazy thing for RFK linneage because 4 of these crosses have RFK as its parent or grandparents. It seems to me most of all the RFK children that I have seen have turned out to be very beautiful.

Bad Bad people, shame on you,... or me Whistling Guess where I went for the first time this year after reading about new arrivals. Funny how I would have never picked the same ones last fall. Glad I waited. Plus I will get some at MECCA. I hate to buy them there, I should come home and order on sale. Its impossible, you just get wrapped up in the whole glorious thing. This year, the checkbook will have the final word..I need to be picky.

Funny Peter. You better write those bonus checks earlier than planned to maintain enthusiasm. Some people don't mind digging in the dirt and some despise it. Get a lot of gloves.

Well last year my son was very crabby (bad health) so I promised to cut back and got rid of a lot. This year he has been in a better mood for some reason, so I have ordered more big pots. Not everyone knows that I garden in big tree size pots. But still I have bought 13 counting what I won on the auction. Not near as many as previous years. I'm sure there will be several extras. Jane Trimmer has agreed to send me TWO Dragonfly Dawn plants to set pods on. LOVE that one and it sets pods like a fiend. First picture is my pot garden. This is my row out in the middle of the grass, I'm going to add a row behind this one.

Thought I was done, like I am really ever done. Whistling I just bought three of Bryan Culver's, Melanie's Smile, Lovely Addition and Maureen Strong. Since Bryan is in Canada his daylilies are very hardy here, some of his others are already in my garden.

Betty, Melanie Mason the owner of North Country Daylilies goes to the CanAm Classic daylily convention in Canada every year. She brings daylily orders from Culver's to the US one inspection fee paid by Culver's, then she sends them on to those in the US who ordered from Culvers. The orders have to be in and paid for before the CanAm Classic. Here is the website with the explaination. I have ordered from both Melanie and Bryan before and it works out very well.

Gardenglory/Pam I have just ordered some pots from Target.com, look for Suncast wicker planters. I got 18" and 22" sizes. The 18" ones are the perfect size for a nice clump. You can also find them on Walmart.com but they cost more there. I also use the 20" size ones from Walmart called Bombay pots. I love those and they are double walled.
