Patty, If you decide not to separate them, the maxi also will take lots of sun. I don't know about the water though. My Maxi tenufolia never bloomed for squat until I hung it out in full sun, but I was told by the vendor, who shall not be named here, that it needs to dry quickly.
Thanks again, Carol! I think I'm going to leave them together, at least for now. My Max. used to be down lower under the oak and I had no problem getting it to bloom, it probably got more water then too since it was within hose range! If it has bloomed since I put it up higher I've missed it, but this summer was horrible with the monsoons we had...I lost at least 6 or 8 orchids even though I moved most of them out of the rain and onto the porch in July! And now we are having a very warm, unusual November! So I am not sure of where I am with a lot of my orchids at this point! I have things that haven't bloomed in years blooming (like that Stan. that sent out 5 inflo's all summer long) and I have things that were faithful bloomers showing no sign of an inflo...it's just crazy! And it's still too hot for me to spend much time outside getting everything straightened out!
I'm expecting an order from Ken, and I'm going on the Apopka trip next week with Elaine and Jim so I see a re-potting day in my very near future...who knows, I may wind up seperating the Max. and the other one at that time.

Just wandered out into the cage to put in a little shut-off valve to one of my mister heads and was assaulted by a fabulous array of fragrance. These two, Little Lulu and her buddy Lou Sneary 'Blue Bird' are almost overpowering together. Lulu smells like her grandmother, the Lady of the Night B. nodosa and Lou has a lovely jasmine scent. The noid Onc. from TJ's is probably adding some scent to the mix, too.

That is a nice little grouping, Elaine, and I'll bet the fragrance is lovely.
I have a couple of big floofers opening in the OC: This (Rlc. Dream Trader x Rlc. Phil Andrews) is probably the largest flower in the OC at 7 inches across. The color in the first picture is the best of the lot. It is more pink than purple.
Then there is Rth. Guanmiau City 'Black Flower' (Rth. Molbeth x Rlc. Chen's Ruby). This is a very dark red and a first time bloomer.
Out under the oak tree, the Arundina graminifolia is blooming.
And so is this yellow Spathoglottis picatta.

I've been in Miami the past few days...and I know you are all SHOCKED that I have bought some more plants...
At Fairchild , I bought Ctt. Anger 'Amazonia Orchids'...I'm not sure that's its name or the place that grew it! It has 3 spikes , lots of buds and is a good size too. Out in the car is a whole crate of plants...
it's a sickness...
Ursula...you are an 'enabler'....

Well, I can sit on the fairly steep step leading into the greenhouse, which I do. When we had the greenhouse built, I had visions of a Bistro table and a chair or two in there. That idea went out the window before the first Winter arrived....But I do spent a lot of time in there, music bouncing off the glass ceiling, playing with my plants, tending to the fish.
It's funny how quickly the bistro table concept flies out the window in the greenhouse...I thought I would be able to have breakfasts in my GH....once the 87 pound dog started helping me there was hardly room to turn around!
