I'm also addicted to Austins, Cliftoncat. According to my plant list, I have 77 of them, and that doesn't include Lady of Shalott (because I never count my chickens before they've hatched) or my duplicates of some of my favorites.

Several tend to "nod," but the worst offenders are Pat Austin and Janet. Their canes are no match for their big heavy blooms and can't hold them upright.

I added another rose to my Rosemania order. As a special bonus, Rosemania is offering Watercolors Home Run for only $12.99 if it's added to an existing order. The shipping cost will stay the same because I'm already paying the maximum fee ($16.00) for my four other roses. This company's shipping costs are so reasonable: $14.00 for three or fewer roses, and $16.00 for any amount over three.

I like it. It reminds me of Funny Face, one of my favorites.

Julie, I'm really enjoying your photos. It's so nice to see pretty roses in bloom in November.

Is Watercolors Home Run the same rose as just plain Watercolors? I've grown that one for several years. It is a large rose. The colors washed out as expected, and late in the season blackspot caused it to drop almost all its leaves. It is extremely drought hardy, though.
My roses all got a good deep drink this week. We set records for rainfall...3.5 inches in just a couple of days, and ice that is now melting and filling our pond!
Some of the younger trees were doubling over from the weight of the ice, but they seem to be recovering today.

No, they're not the same. Same hybridizer, but the new Watercolors Home Run has a much more complicated parentage formula. Watercolors is a single rose, and Watercolors Home Run has more petals and it blooms in bigger clusters.

I have the old Watercolors and it has been something of a disappointment. It doesn't bloom that much, and as you said, Cindi, it suffers greatly from black spot.

The roses in the south facing section of my garden are loaded with buds right now.
The others are just now "shutting down" for a well deserved rest after the intense heat we had all summer.
My Bill Warriner is a real trooper and always produces one last huge "hurrah" of blooms at Christmas.

2 years ago I bought Enchanted Evening, Coretta Scott King and White Licorice.
None of them did much the first year (as expected) and most of this year... until October, and all 3 suddenly took off like crazy...even with the heat.
Coretta tends to be more pink in the warm months and more orange when it's cooler.
Enchanted Evening blooms amazingly well even with the humidity, which surprised me.
White Licorice is now one of my favorites. More white when warm and more yellow when cool...but the fragrance is amazing. Seldom do I pick roses to bring in the house, but I broke a bud of WL and brought it in. I could smell it when I came in my back door...and it was at the other end of the house.

If only my Intrigue would do as well.

That is good to know, Mike! White Licorice is at the top of my list to complete my white bed. White-ish, I should say.
I love Enchanted Evening and I remember it as wonderfully fragrant.
Zuzu, I think it's a marketing mistake to name a new, high-quality rose with the same name as one that's disappointing. If you hadn't said something, I would have walked right by the new one, or worse, I would have discouraged others from buying it.
Whew! I thought we just had another earthquake! My dogs got all bothered, and there was a huge rumbling sound that kept getting closer and closer. Turned out to be a full sized UPS semi dropping off: 1. a cell phone battery and 2. a pair of socks from Kohls. At 10:21 at night! We have already turned off all lights and our neighborhood is pitch black at night.
The stores are really getting competitive with the fast delivery times! Poor driver! I hope he makes a decent wage!
On the other hand, I was up working on Christmas orders until 2:30 last night. I took over my daughter's Etsy business so she could focus on med school and I'm am in way over my head already. Sighing!

I agree that it's a marketing mistake. That's why the rose wasn't in my original order. I moved right past it on the Web page because I thought it was the disappointing one I already have. I didn't even consider ordering it until I received a Rosemania e-mail that provided more information about the rose and offered it at a special discount.

Beautiful roses and fall colors. The forecast says we have a 100% chance of rain tomorrow in Sebastopol. I hope it pours and pours.

Beautiful roses, Sherry. With all those raindrops Cecile Brunner looks as if it's made of polystyrene! Hilarious! And wonderful autumn colors - what are the trees?

I miss having those striking autumn colors here, but I don't miss the frigid weather that usually follows them. My Cecile Brunner is blooming now too and the color and fragrance is better than ever.

The trees... Going from front to back

red foliage is Continus x 'Grace'
Weeping yellow conifer is Cupressus macrocarpa 'Saligna Aurea'
The red to the left of the cypress is Nyssa sinensis, and the yellow foliaged shrub to the left of that is Chimonanthus praecox, or Wintersweet. The flowers should open in the next couple of weeks.
All off the tall trees in the background are Coast Redwoods.

Thanks, Sherry - love them all, and will be adding a couple to my 'have to get' list Smiling Might need to buy an adjoining field to make room...
We arrived in Barbados last night and I'm now sitting on the balcony feeding a small friendly sparrow. Lots of exotic-looking flora around.
