It seems to only show results for that letter or number and doesn't give the option to see the total # of subscribers that I can see.

So, the errant subscription list is just kinda 'false bravado' ?
Looks good to the uninitiated who think 'WOW, best get out my moola and join'?
Seems it ..

Am still vacillating .. here, not ready to fully slice the umbilical cord attaching me to what I refer to as the 'toxic cocoon' .. but, I am inching closer .. I SO do NOT want to make anyone remaining on Daves think I am deserting ship .. Jean knows what I mean ..

When I typed just a couple letters into the member list my correct e-mail address came right up but then they stated that , " I do not Exist". Hilarious! I left there when Dave did but I still receive their news letter every single week even though I no longer exist. Rolling on the floor laughing

I found myself on the list and that I'm subscribed to 7-30-17; and no, I didn't prepay for a subscription till July of 2017. I won several 1st places in photo contests some year's past and my rewards were yearly subscriptions packed on top of each other. I used to occasionally post sunset pictures in the photo forum, ceased doing that as well.
I'm very happy here and don't plan on ever migrating back to there...

I think for some folks, the conundrum is whether to continue to subscribe to DG so they can maintain contact with a few friends on sub-only forums or to just chuck it and hope you find them on another site.

It is a puzzlement Confused

Sadly, what I found when I left DG was many of my regional cyber-buddies just kind of disappeared. Some came over here, others just do FB, and some were embarking on major life changes that rather precluded gardening. I've occasionally checked out the PNW forum on DG and it is pretty quiet with only a few recognized names.

Get to use to certain individuals , like friends come and go , although their always there , and you miss routine ,
Status quo difficulties can happen , Expect them sooner or later , Some things besides the point of these as gardening , are best not to get attached unto
Things change Confused I agree

I actually tried to stay in touch with a couple old DGers through FB, but found that while we certainly had common gardening interests, we were miles apart politically -- one I had to actually unfriend due to his constant barrage of offensive (to me) posts. At some point I just decided, really I don't know this person, there is no reason to continue to subject myself to unpleasantness. Poof - gone. That said, I do like that we are not 'forbidden' to delve into controversial gardening issues (GMOs, organic v. chemical) and have enjoyed courteous well thought out discussions that don't get nasty. So refreshing.

I really think that all this upheaval will accomplish is a complete streamlining of DG. The previous change was to rid the site of wasted space, so to speak. Consolidation of forums, and housekeeping. This set of changes will do even more and make DG more phone/tablet friendly and much less user friendly.

An easy way to stay in touch with a special friend or two is to just exchange personal email addresses before you depart.

I've got news for 'em................it sure isn't "user-friendly" on my Motorola phone. iPad, a bit better. It's just awful all the way around.

I said in my long post over there that the change was akin to "sliding on a rug on a newly waxed floor, falling and breaking both legs and an arm..........some of us will never recover". I wonder just WHOSE idea that all was, and the fact that they keep saying when told of the problems "we have told the team about this and they are working on it". You know, if they would have worked on it BEFORE they threw us all under the bus and then have the nerve to say that they won't ever put things back to "the way they were, or a reasonable facsimile"............. Grumbling Grumbling Grumbling
