There would certainly be a lot of "holes" in a lot of threads if everything from every inactive "member' was deleted! Hilarious!

I wrote tonight and asked to have my name removed. No response.

I did a very childish thing before I left. It appears I deleted all but 4 of my photos :-)

I guess that means there is no way to remove private things, address, e-mail,etc, from D-mail them. Sighing!

You are welcome Sandy...it just seemed so appropriate. Whistling Hubby says he works for the "pointy hair boss" nodding

Karen, I don't think that is childish at all. They are your photos, and you should be able to delete them for any reason - dissatisfaction with the site and/or administration certainly being one of them. Had I had the chance to do so, I probably would have. I posted a very nice goodbye on my local regional forum on DG when I had decided to leave, which was immediately deleted by the admins. I didn't mention ATP by name, just said I was going elsewhere. I thought that was very paranoid of the administration, not to mention rude. It was shortly after this that they gave me the boot. Shrug. No regrets.

I have made severeal posts at DG referring people to and recommending ATP. So far nothing has been deleted but it may be the Terry and Melody can't keep up with all the people leaving DG and recommening ATP. I am often overly loyal but I, too, had a problem with Terry and when the responses to the latest unannounced changes were met with a "too bad, we're doing what we want" atitude I decided I've had enough. Rudeness and stupidity are a bad combination. None of the problems - some painfully obvious - have been corrected as far as I can tell. When loyalty is taken advantage of, it's time to leave. katie

I was booted off not very nicely. As I recall, Terry just sent me a very short and terse Dmail saying I was barred from the site. Period. I wrote her back asking for an explanation, and she responded with something to the effect that I was "obviously" unhappy there so adios. That was during the fiasco before this latest one. I did express my frustration at glitches, slowness in resolving them, and lack of response from the admins (in the site forum) -- but so did many others, many in a much more strident tone than mine. I think I just got on her bad side for whatever reason and it was more of a power play than anything else. No loss for me.

I was a member as well.I joined back in 2007. I wasn't on often. But I would refer to certain forums for info. Talk with some people. It was okay.

Unfortunately, I am not on here as often as I would like to be. But, when I am, people here are pleasant and easygoing. If there is something I don't know or need info about, I know where to go to for it. There's always someone willing to help.
Thank you all.

MORNIN ..

Well Daves remains 'screwy'.. and, I do think some of the regulars from the thread I belong to, are taking this upheaval personally .. by which I mean, they are kind of perhaps not only put out with admin, but, also with those of us who have announced we are getting our feet wet on ATP.
I sure hope that isn't the case, but, it's the feeling I get, and, it saddens me Crying

I have pics on Daves, LOTS of them .. wouldn't even know how to go about removing them, after -
7-8 years I'd have to spend forever looking for them .. would truly like some back as I haven't them on this computer.

Welcome to everyone in need of welcoming .. don't stand under the Mistletoe too long, or,drink too much eggnog .. you may never leave Hilarious!

S H O P P I N G !!!!!!!!!!!!! today .. does it ever end !!!!!!!

Scrolled through the entire thread and noticed this question was not answered. It is not dumb. Smiling

Our Dave created Dave's Garden. If I remember correctly, he sold the site? Dave created ATP sometime soon afterward. If I have the facts incorrect, someone will fix it. Short answer: yes, same Dave.

IbisFla said:I'm new to ATP, and while I have gone to DG many times, I never joined or subscribed so please excuse the probably dumb question - is Dave from ATP the same Dave from Dave's Garden? Confused

@IbisFla
It’s okay to not know all the answers.

Yep! My name is still listed as a member, but if you want to know how many people are really there, you go to the list of SUBSCRIBERS, which is pretty sparse.

IIRC it is not possible. One person here probably knows, but for obvious reasons we will not find out.

Actually, one is a member of DG forever unless they have banned you from the site. I did not renew my subscription but that does not remove my FREE membership -- only my paid subscription to particular forums and features. I haven't posted there in 4 years or so but I am technically still a member. They don't remove members who haven't posted in X years and that's their right & privilege. Someone posted that they emailed them requesting to be removed as a member. I will be curious to see what happens with that. If it works & they are removed then I will follow suit.
