Seems like the latest thing on DOG is that you have to start a new thread with every post as it won't let you post on a thread but it will let you start a new thread! Sticking tongue out nodding

Praying for a safe and medically uneventful trip. I think it's wonderful you'll see your niece, Elizabeth, and she will be with you for awhile.

Isn't that sad Ann? I was gone all day and a bunch of other gals on FB mentioned they "lost" posts, so I went to try... very sad, pathetic i think.

If they don't fix this quickly, there wont be many paying members left.

Terese - there are precious few paying members left at DOG already. Too many other good options w/o paying. I think I'm done going there unless I hear from people that things are up and running smoothly. It's really poor when the admins don't even respond to Dmail.

Katie - I also hope for a safe and medically uneventful trip.

Have just done aquafit, followed by a good grocery shop. I can only live on party left-overs for so long. Big Grin

Ann -- I hear ya, and really after the last big 'blow up' when Dave was no longer a part of DoG, I did notice the Hosta forum and the WS forum just about die. So many of the people that kept it alive came here.

aside from the FL forum, which is not very active, I follow 1 thread -- half of which the gals are ready to leave.

The ONLY thing that has kept me on DOG is the good friends I've made in the Coffee... threads. And the ones I know best are on FB anyway, so ... The real action about Hostas in on FB, though I don't like the format as well. And to a lesser extent, the Hallson forum still has active hosta discussions. Even here, it's not really very active. Sad

I posted (about 7-19 days ago) on the NE forum. It used to be one of the most active forums in DOG, I asked if anyone wanted to join us, and got Zero, nada, no response. All the threads in the NEF were basically "dead". I haven't seen many of them here either. I'm wondering if they have become the lost tribe of DOG. If they get DOG working well enough I will dmail a bunch of them to see where they are. I know when Dave left DOG they all signed up at cubits as a back-
up, I just don't know if they followed through to ATP.

DG is back up so folks can post again, and Dmail was always functioning -- that was the only way one could communicate with other members.

now that's funny, Terese - dmail was the only part that didn't have the format changed... Whistling Rolling my eyes.

yes, just about. I hear the home page is supposed to change too. Someone said it was happening now - with this Fix.... but nope, not yet. I almost dread it.
And one thing that I and others think was major and a major issue for folks with vision issues.... with all that "white" - the forum pages are very hard to read. I do not even think the powers that be are addressing it as a possible fix. I just think that is wrong - as these people have a valid complaint and it's like they don't care. Sighing!

I'm home!

I jumped ship after sticking around a few more years at the ''New Dave's.'' I too was given a subscription by someone who didn't want to see me go. I still don't know who it was, but how can you not stay after that. My sub, since then paid by me, is up in March and I let people know I wasn't staying this time. I linked them to threads here and am glad to see some followed. I found I followed some already here.

No matter what thread I chose, I find old friends. I'm so happy Hurray!

I like my flowers, garden and canning and I wish I could sew. My Mom's talent did not pass on to me....

I was astounded how many forums that used to be so active are now dead- I kept hearing crickets! LOL The forums for roses, irises, peonies, perennials, lilies, and bulbs have all been very quiet. I'd started a few threads and had a lovely conversation with 1 member on each of those threads, but that was about it. Kinda that awkward feeling when you and one other guest show up to a party.

it's Winter! Maybe alot of peeps are hibernating!! Hilarious!

More likely, the gardiners are ramping up, getting ready for outdoors growing season (designing their newest additions, ording seed, starting seed...,we're one busy-busy lot!) Smiling

Just to satisfy my own curiosity, I went to www.internetbrands.com and searched for anything on gardening. Nada. Take a look. I am convinced that they will close the DG division without notice, especially now that they have introduced the new format and used the DG members to test it for them. Cost free testing! Once everything is running without any glitches, I think they'll pull the plug and DG will cease to exist.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Free, heck, they've gotten DG memebers to pay for the testing. kb
