I'm too confused with all of this, but I'm always me - screen name Tallulah (and whatever after - B sometimes?) and my real name is Susan.

And I've kept ViolaAnn both places and on the Hallson forum as well. It's also my vanity plate on my car. My name is Ann and I play the viola. I've been known to grow a few violas from time to time, but my main interest is hostas.

I can't remember who it was now, either... but I remember one of the DG "refugees" saying they were using a different name and felt like they were "in witness protection."

@BetNC -- audio books -- I love them, and I don't know where you normally get yours, but I've been an on-and-off subscriber to Audible.com (presently "off" for quite a while). The membership there is pretty expensive IMO, and buying the books if you're not a member is even more so... but I've been getting free books for my Kindle via BookBub for quite some time now and many of those are then available to get as an Audible book for $1.99. Just thought I'd throw that out there for you or anyone else that might be interested -- I love listening to books while I garden! Smiling

@BetNC Not to worry, the thread is here as long as it remains active and folks are interested. Smiling

Down at the bottom of each page there is a link to the memberlist. You can use that link to find ATP members and search for folks by their on-line user name. Just to familiarize you with that perk, here is the link.

Many moons back I logged in to DOG as Moonhowl. Looked around, checked the ID of a couple plants, thought it looked like a neat site and logged out. Somewhere along the way I lost my info, but I knew my log-in name. But, The system said another user had that name, so I thought I must have used my other log-in, Moondance. Nope another user had that name???? So, I used "themoonhowl". Beyond that difference, I have used Moonhowl since the 80's on BBS message boards.

Seems like long, long ago that I first found DG too -- I think I was googling for some sort of plant and ended up there; then I had to come up with a user name and had been outside weedwhacking for half the day, so... yep, just call me Weedwhacker!

I'm not very good at coming up with new names so it's pretty much either Weedwhacker or SandyBreit !

I've had the nickname Tallulah B since I was 17, so have always used some form of it. My acting coach said I was a strong minded person, much like Tallulah Bankhead (yes, since then I've watched the movie Lifeboat)
I liked that analogy, so...... the rest is history..... Big Grin

This is probably the best place to post my latest information. I will be going to Ca. within he next few days so I can see my Kaiser doctor. The stitch in my left side is not getting better and I need a thorough checkup where I have complete medical coverage and docgtors wo know me. I have all the X-rays and reports from the doctor in Loretto who treated me for pneumonia and the cardiologist in La Paz who did a complete workup. I think Tony or one of his adult sons will help with the drive north and then take a bus back to here once we are close to the border. This is because I get tired so easily and the drive north would be the hardest part of this plan .

Now for the good news: My niece, Elizabeth, who lives in Portland, OR. has arranged to fly to San Diego on Thursday andstay until Saturday. She booked a room at the motel where I stayed when I had the radiation treatment a year ago. The rooms are quite inexpensive but include a kitchenette. The rooms are built in a square around a courtyard which has a swimming pool - probably a bit chilly this time of year - and a hot tub. I've not seen Elizabeth in about twenty years so we are both excited about this.

Elizabeth and I have been the rocks for each other in a severely dysfunctional family. We have been able to assure each other of our sanity when all around us were seriously sick.

Neighbors Dana and Tom will take care of Inky Dink. Tony and Anita will take care of the house, grounds and the other three dogs.

Thank you all for your friendship here and your support which is particularly appreciated with all the going on.

katie

Group hug Katie -- I hope all goes well and the doctors can get to the bottom of the problem and take care of it for you! It sounds like you have a good plan in place for taking care of things while you have to be away.

good luck with your doctor visits, Katie! So frustrating to not be able to have someone in the medical fields know what the real issue is. I hate finding new doctors, my old ones were so friendly and accomodating. Hopefully, these new ones you're seeing will be able to narrow the problems down and help you recuperate soon.
I can log into DG, just can't post replies or even go back to find the thread I just tried to read... the only button at the bottom of the reply box is the Preview, and when I clicked that, it threw me back to the home page, but didn't even list the Watched Threads that were on my list to read.. I did notice that the dates on the last posting fields said stuff like '18 hours ago', etc. Maybe the Magic Programmer Geeks are waving their wands in there somewhere! Yep, being in any type of management has it's days... some days you're the windshield, some days you're the bug... Rolling on the floor laughing I wouldn't want to be in a place where I had to read and scour through disgruntled customer complaints all day long, been there-done that.
