In the past i quilt, embroider, knit, crochet and sew. I am not motivated to do any of if it now. It doesn't keep my attention like gardening, yardwork, woodworking, and home maintenance. Give me a tool belt and a spade over knitting needles or fabric. I can cook too, but i guess I'm burned out on it as i dint enjoy cook7ng as much as i do eating.

In the winter, there's no gardening for me, in Canada Green Grin! so, I quilt, knit and embroider. Don't know how to crochet (and frankly, there's enough to do without adding another craft, but I have taken up colouring in my new adult colouring books!!!). I taught my DH how to knit and he made a blanket for his grandson!! Lovey dubby

I can relate to this, Cheryl... I used to do a lot of the same things as you mentioned, and since we do have a rather long winter here it seems like I would have plenty of non-gardening time for them; but once the holidays are over I only have a couple of months before I begin starting seeds, and need to use that little break for doing my "spring cleaning," since once gardening gets going the housework pretty much goes by the wayside, other than a few critical things. And, of course, I also have to get my garden planned and seeds ordered and such... and then if you throw in a seed swap somewhere along the line Blinking

thanks, Ric--I missed this post on the other thread! Definitely all are welcome in our Midatlantic Gardening forum!! Thumbs up

This thread is quiet now because the dust is settling. The holidays are over, folks are back at work. Those that felt what was happening at the old garden was the last straw are starting to find their friends and interests here at ATP, on Cubits, or have moved on to FB.

This thread has pretty much served its' purpose. That being said, I think you will see fewer and fewer posts here and before long it will slip away. I considered marking it solved/finished, but realized it is still a jumping off point for new users. Many that are here are feeling at home, but for some this is where they know they can connect and find links to navigate and also find their friends.
So, for now, it can just be here if that suits.

Yes, I'm still looking for friends that have moved to ATP and especially Cubits "Sisters of the Heart" because I'll be doing more crafting atm, until I can get home to my own garden Rolling my eyes.

I will be checking in on threads in the sandbox and mostly lurking, as I did in my previous life. I probably feel more comfortable to post here, but haven't a lot to say. It's like in real life, you learn more from 'listening' than from talking.

I have interest in some of the plant forums, but don't really feel that I have a lot to contribute any more. Still adding photos to the database if I have them.

Nice to see all the friendly peeps here.

Oh, Before I post a message here the Thread options box comes up asking if I want to mark the thread as solved, finished or expired. I just figured it was an option. Shrug!
