My babies finally spent their first 2 nights outside. I'm kind of anxious now because I am at work and it's threatening rain they have never been rained on yet.

Your trees look healthy enough to get s dose of good rain. Ever notice how plants do so much better after rain vs our garden hose? I bet they will love it!! Just not too much, though.

I will fertilize tomorrow. But no need to water anything!

I recommend Excalibur, available from Florida Colors Nursery. It was especially formulated for plumeria.

I don't know exactly what my plumeria actually "need" in the way of fertilizer, but I alternate several fertilizers from spring through late summer. Since I grow so many orchids, much of that fertilizer will be one of the orchid formulations. I also supplement the fertilizers with Mg every 4-6 weeks. I also use a bloom-booster (orchid) formulation beginning in June, and use it every second or third fertilizing. There is certainly no scientific reason for what I do and don't know what companies that do manufacture fertilizers have a scientific basis for their formulations (perhaps the MSU formulations do). I just know that my plants are lush and bloom frequently. That's all I care about.

I agree Much like Ken, I have no idea what any of my plumeria want or "need", and I fertilize in the same manor. I start fertilizing in early Spring with a well-balanced, light fertilizer, and fertilize pretty much all the way through late October (when fall begins to start--it varies year to year). Throughout Summer I fertilize with Excalibur (diluted because I use other fertilizers as well), a bloom-booster (for tropicals), and occasionally throw in diluted orchid or succulent fertilizer. There is no method to my madness. I bounce back and forth between super balanced fertilizers and bloom-boosters. I always dilute everything I fertilize with, because I tend to not be able to leave sleeping dogs lie, so I fertilize frequently as it gives me something to do more often. Again, much like ken, all I know is that my plants are frequent and repetitive bloomers, so I just keep doing what I'm doing Whistling

Though I guess simply because I was trained and spent my entire adult life dealing with facts, facts based on scientific method, I would like to know the basis for formulations and claims made by the manufacturers of said fertilizers. That being said, growing plants well is not rocket-science. Some plants are heavy "users" of water and fertilizer, some are not. Knowing what plants tend to need what and understanding that growing conditions will often greatly alter our use of water and fertilizers, simplifies what we need to do.

I have been using spray -n grow every 7 days and supplemented every few weeks with BR-61, once i knew my trees were well rooted . I think i have had had good success, but dont have much to compare to yet. i have not killed anything yet so thats good. Rolling my eyes.
I just purchased Excalibur based on Hettys experience but will try that beginning next spring. Its too late in the year for me in the northeast to start using it now .

I have been told multiple multiple times to not use BR-61, my trees seem to love it (in moderation).

I have never used (or even heard of) BR61. I looked it up though and it is a similar formulation of many of the so-called "Super Blooming" fertilizers. On occasion I have used the Grow More and Peters formulations, but haven't used any of those enough to know whether I got any particular results that I didn't get with any other fertilizer. I never exclusively use a single fertilizer though. I like to vary my fertilization routine over the year.
