Ginny, trying to keep that in mind when slinging the garden fork around.
Betty, it grows and self-seeds everywhere in my yard--didn't even think that zones would make a difference. (duh me
)
Heat sickness is easing up with the cooler temperatures. Yea!!! Still only manage an hour or so at a time, but can be a little more energetic than in past months, especially the last two mornings when it has been overcast. Bit at a time it is getting done. Replanted a NOID Peony that had to be moved for the rehab workers and was in a holding pot. Moved it further away from the house shadow than its original location. Thinking it will take a couple of years before it starts blooming again. Worth it, though, because it is one seriously pretty flower.
Planted seven Iris, most from an order I placed because of a voucher. And so glad I did--Winterberry Iris is great. No photograph anywhere I found for one of them (Heaven's Bounty), and three of them aren't in the NGA database--yet.

Cherry Glen. Acquaintance one street over gave it to me.
Enchanted Mesa. Blue J Iris' photographs usually have a yellow overlay, so the bloom will look different from what is shown here.

Memory bed for my niece and step-nephew. That Caladium is doing much better than I expected it to, so are the Ajugas (thank you, Kabby
).
From Tuesday:
Variegated Sedum always flops from the middle. Been told that condition is most likely due to the heavy clay and the fact that it only gets half-day of sun. Been coming back for six or seven years, now, so I keep leaving it in place (except for taking increases off of it).
More Spideys. Hadn't remembered planting so many, but I'm happy about forgetting.
Nice surprise.

Shorty has anxiety issues and hasn't been able to even go for job interviews. Been slow going trying to help her.
Might now have more incentive, though. Her friend's dog had puppies (Chihuahua/Dachshund) and promised one to her.
The friend says she will hold it until Shorty has her own place. Since that will most likely be years from now (if ever), told her if she got a job and could pay for upkeep, we could have the dog here.
Shorty named her...ready?...I'm so proud...the dog's name is...Iris...awwww.
