Thank you Julia.
I was really disappointed that I couldn't get out and take more photos when I got home from work today. It has been raining nonstop all day.
Are you guys getting rain?

Yes, and wind. Power is out in Everett at DH office. He said that they are not sure why it is out so the utility trucks are out looking. Everett never looses power. We did have a few beautiful days!!!!!

Next week is rain. Sighing!
And I was really getting into working in the yard. Sighing!
The rain can't last forever. Can it? Blinking

At the moment, it's -8 deg. F., with wind chills at -25 deg. A pretty ugly day out there for man, beast and plants. Happy we have snow cover though. I envy those of you who can actually see plants in your gardens and go out to take pictures. And I thank you for sharing them!!

On that is cold. Chris what do you do with all the pots on the shelves that you have. Put them in the garage or still outside?

Wow, I've never even been in anything below zero. I'm not a fan of the cold. As far as going out and taking pictures... it's pretty gloomy out there. I'll need to use a flash even in the middle of the day.

Lynn, I hope you're capturing all this rainwater for use this summer. I remember last year some water stress in your semp beds... although they seemed to come through it pretty well. I wonder if a thorough dry-out once in a while is beneficial.

This is possibly 'Unicorn'. I can't remember, this picture was taken during our previous sunny day... so very long ago.

Latest shot of 'Purple Dazzler'. I gotta say, I get a little fired up when I see that purple and green mixing up.

I'll try to get a picture soon Lynn.

Yes Julia, all my pots are in our unheated garage, mostly to keep them dry so the pots don't break.

Tim, I'm not really a fan of the cold either. Hilarious! But the rest of the year is nice in Wisconsin... You know, mosquito season!

Wow a day when it only rained a little!

Got quite a bit of cleanup done on the perennial beds and bopped around the semp beds quickly. Some are not happy campers with all this rain but others look OK. The yellow heufffelii cultivars are starting to turn yellow already. Spring is coming.....

I'll have to try going out tomorrow to see what is turning yellow in my beds. I just love the yellow semps and heuffs.

There were a few moments of resplendent sunshine today, so I had to throw down my ukulele and dash outside with my camera.

Yes, I'm finally gaining some faith that real changes are on the way. I still remember unpacking my shipment from Simply Succulents last July and wondering WTH? Crying I thought I'd been duped. Hilarious! They didn't look anything like the pictures. Confused

Tim,

Ukulele huh? Maybe we need to do an oboe/ ukulele duet for the clinic. That might drive the vermin from the neighborhood too!

I have a fair number that are quite dark purple, red and some red-green bicolors. Some of the seedlings are quite nice looking now. Something chewed on a couple but they must have gotten a mouthful of nasty taste as they didn't eat any more.

The cobwebs look pretty ratty right now. Especially with the winter wet they are mostly GONE. Really scruffy right now!

Looking good Tim.

We had a marvelous great day on Thursday. Worked in the yard clipping and weeding the hellebore garden. Ready for the show, lots of buds!

Did you think we would lie to you Tim? Rolling my eyes. Of course they are going to start doing amazing things. Just wait until Feb, you won't believe how fast they will change from Feb on into spring. Big Grin

Kevin this arach x tectorum of yours seems to handle all this PNW rain in fine fettle. Photo taken today.

@springcolor & @JungleShadows do the two of you cut all of the old leaves off at this time of year? I have lots of buds coming up through the ground.

Lynn,

Yes cut off the old hellebore leaves as they get diseased and look bad. The stalks will come out cleaner without the old leaves.

The hellebore inspector will be by to make sure you've done a good job!
