Some nice outdoor working weather this morning. It seems you can build a sizable bed with one ton of rocks. Leaving room for expansion of course. Plenty of hard work left to finish this thing... later. It's AFC and NFC championship day, couch time.

this was a couple of days ago, but it looked just like this again

AND we haven't even figured out where the new sempy garden is even going so I'm really struggling with the visualization part of the preparation Sighing!

We had pretty much decided to convert the whole parking strip--but then I had second thoughts about weeding from the position of the street-gutter and the sidewalk--hard on old knees--plus, and, I don't need to be showing my backside to the world quite like that, plus, and, I don't think sempies would appreciate all the extra winter road salt. So now we have to figure out something else that will look cool...

Having an overwhelmingly good time looking at Euro semps though, and have quite a wish list going with no clue how I am going to pare that down to something resembling reasonable Hilarious!
I even had vivid kaleidoscopic semp dreams--wow, that was really something Blinking

anyway, update on semp-cicles
if you recall

they are doing just fine

Great roller links Bev. Thank you so much.
Sure wish I could make a trip to Mark's place. What a treat that would be to wonder around his amazing gardens.

Wow, Tim you don't waste time. I can visualize how wonderful that bed will be when it is filled with new semps. Hurray!

Dirt, good thing winter weather gave you time to rethink your new semp planting area. The original site would have been amazing, and the public would have loved it, but it sure would have posed some problems. Rolling my eyes.
Can't wait to see what your next plan will be. Hurray!

Not til the new plants are available, and I have little control over that. But I did get out today and move 10 wheelbarrow loads of soil to fill up that bed. So I actually could plant right now. As wet as everything is, that soil still crumbles, great stuff.
Ridiculously decent weather in the PNW today as you can see from the picture. It's beyond T-shirt weather, in fact that's my shirt in the background of the picture. *Blush* I call this a vitamin-D day, and in January I'll take it.

@Canadana - there are also some of us who use a slightly different jargon, mine being that I label huefs as
H. 'whatever the cultivar name is'
For rollers I use J. for jovibarba
J. 'cultivar name'
and for sempervivum I use
S. 'cultivar name'
In my personal database I label my photos in this way so they aren't all mixed together within the sempervivum designation. What could be challenging is that I never know which plants have duplicate names for a roller or semp or heuf since they aren't found near one another in my database!
I tip my hat to you.

This is a large semp, and very prolific.

Here is Jungle Shadows and Deimos at the top of the photo.

Someone we all know has two new beds quietly under construction. When do we see pics of those... Lynn?
