Yes it is. I had one small one which was in the ground for several years. (I had a small strip of real dirt)

I had tried to grow Sempervivums in that area but was told it was a lost cause because of the intense shade. So it was suggested that I try to clear the area (it is all river rock) and try planting some proven shade plants in a newly created planting bed.

For several reasons I did not get the bed cleared and planted so I kept the Hostas I purchased in pots.

Am waiting to see how they do and hope to get the planting bed created soon. Not a great shot but does show some of the area I am working with (townhouse entry) HOA ok'ed my plans but $$ got in the way last year.

This is a unique Hosta in it's appearance. Have it on my list now. I like it a lot. Hope it does not get too large.

It is interesting looking! I saw a listing for it at Goldenbrook Hostas (Canada); they describe it as small, 6-12 inches. I thought it resembled Whirlwind and interestingly, it is a sport of Twister, which is a sport of Whirlwind.

Mine is a small/medium. I've lost two Whirlwind but this one seems to be doing okay for me.

Does anybody else like the streaked ones? I really like them, but I have several that I have to keep an eye on for solid leaves.

Don't own any but sure like them! Any recommendations Rose? Would love to get at least one to add to the garden; prefer a small- medium size. 😃

I really like Prairie Rainbow. I got it as a liner a few years ago and it's been a good grower with lots of streaking. I don't think it get very big.

I always like the blues that stand out in the crowd!

Wishing Well (I haven't had this one for long, but it's a pretty blue even as a youngster!)

Wow Rose! So many beautiful hostas; your property looks like a Hosta Mecca! Thanks for your suggestion of Prairie Rainbow. Funny enough, I've been adding hostas with "Prairie" in their name to my new Hosta bed. Last year I got Prairie Moon and Prairie Sky, and I have Prairie Fire and Prairie's Edge on my wish list....(I am a prairie girl after all, lol).
Keep posting those pics, love looking at them all!
