Actually it's not double, just has two colors on each petal. Connie's ummm....er.... "new" one has quadrupled (at least) in number of "branches". She planted those 2 alone and it's taken over the pot. Mine is just still the same two twigs with a bloom now and then. sigh
Hers gets more shade. Perhaps mine is in too much sun. Although, my others get full sun and love every minute of it.

I bought three small pots of purslane this week. They blooms were closed and so I ended up with one yellow and two orangey-red. They are healthy and tomorrow I am dividing and planting in pots. I miss the two tone ones I used to buy. Also the white ones. I can't find them anywhere right now and I don't want to pay shipping.

This bloom is from lat years pot that came back. They are pink but not the bright fuchsia pink I have had before. With the recession, many nurseries aren't carrying purslane...they have cut back.
This is the only purslane I have in a basket. Strangely enough, I found it one day outside a grocery store. No ID, nothing. The grocery store guy that checked me out didn't even know what to charge, so we agreed upon a price. Much appreciated blooms in this heat!
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White

Tough? aren't they? I have some growing around here but wouldn't be safe with my "boys" running around. May have to pull some up and wash it off. Mine has little pink blooms. Is it kin to rockmoss?? I'm curious and it does remind me of porulacea.
Hey!! BeckyBoo. How are you dear??
