I believe that Gaillardia is a short lived perennial. I had tons about 4 years back and see less and less every year since.

Bee Balm can over take a garden if allowed. I have a bed that it is apparent just how out of control it can be. Campsis radicans is another one that will take over if its planted in a place it loves to be.

I haven't really looked at my Autumn Joy sedum. I know it has flower heads on it but haven't noticed any coloring to it yet. Guess I should actually go outside and look.

AC is back on. 95 yesterday with a dew point of 70 same for today. Next week? Forecast calls for 70's and 60's for day time highs and night temps in the 50's to upper 40's. Some one can't make up their mind what temps she wants to be. One minute she's freezing and ups the temps and humidity, the next she;s in a hot flash and lowering the temps too low.

Who am I talking about? Mother Nature of course.

Jo Ann, what kind of coleus is that at the beginning of the thread? I really like that.
In the end, only kindness matters.

Makes me wonder why I didn't get the other two they had there? Shrug! It was tough enough wrestling this one into the car. I'm fortunate that I can overwinter EE in the ground here with about 6" of straw mulch over the top of them. They usually make it fine unless we have a very soggy Spring, in which case some can rot.

That's a good question. It doesn't appear to be polystyrene and it isn't ceramic. Some type of molded material rather than carved, I think, but I'm not exactly certain what it is. It was a gift.

I love Rudbeckia 'Henry Eilers'....

Monarda --- does anyone know if the increase plants are all connected to the original plants? I have neuropathy in my hands and feet - so pulling or digging the increase is difficult to impossible. I was considering putting roundup on the leaves of the increase where I don't want it next spring. But, I don't want to kill the original plant. I've never dug up or divided any of the monada to know how they grow underground. If the new plants are 3 feet from the original, are they connected?

Me too, Juli. This is my first year to plant 'Henry Eilers' and it has done wonderfully! I am so happy with it. Hurray!

I know you can grow Monardas from seeds, cuttings, and root divisions so I'm thinking the answer to your question might be that it would kill the original plant if still connected by the roots. I am not certain about that though. Anyone else know for sure?

I tried to divide Colrain Reds and didnt have much luck. On the otherhand the part of the garden where I put them hasny supported much so it might be the soil here.
