Sounds good to me...I could probably get several "starts" out of mine..As I remember they kind of come apart but that was when they were in a pot...

I wish I had more of the seeds ... I would share with you. Someone gave me a few seeds for next year but I only have 4 or 5, I think. Blinking The purple were awesome this year and I'm looking forward to trying the white. I hadn't even known there was white until I got these seeds.

Has anyone ever grown a flowering vine up the trunk of an oak tree? I tried Thunbergia, but I think it wants more sun. Have been thinking that Maybe a Japanese Morning Glory would like it... though possibly too shady there too... any suggestions? I'm thinking Annual, or at least a smallish perennial. Don't want to create a problem with something that would take over, just want a little color there Smiling

I grow clematis up my sweetbay magnolias. I gently train the vine to be on the outer limbs.

Clematis is my suggestion too.

I did, however, grow my Japanese Morning Glory, Kikyo Zaki, in mostly shade this year and it did quite well. I'm just not sure about actually being under a canopy of leaves, especially an Oak. They can throw some pretty dense shade.

Janice, do you want to start a new thread for October. Surely someone will have something blooming in their Cottage Gardens in the months to come. Maybe?? Shrug!

Thanks, Tee! You're right! Even when the garden is sleeping, we will have plenty to show and discuss here I am sure.
