Nice to see your blooms. We got snow all night, and it's still falling, high winds and snow drifts. Looks to be about 3 inches so far, but hard to tell with the wind. Maybe it will be the last big blast, who knows. Shrug! But keep the pictures coming, it helps give me hope! Hilarious!

It has been a long time since I saw it in May. Growing up in MI I thought it odd when it snowed in April. Wasn't so odd when I was in the higher elevations out in WA. If it snowed here in NC in May, THAT would cause a panic.

Leslie, you are right about the LA being early. It is in a pot and gets lots of sun but I couldn't believe it was blooming. I was looking at our LA beds for bloom stalks yesterday and saw nothing. I checked Colorific and Black Widow, two of our earliest bloomers, and there was no sign of a stalk. This is shaping up to be a very strange season for us. The AIS Region 14 spring convention is going to be about 5 miles from our house, but about 1300' higher. I hope they have some bloom left by the end of April.

A few more blooms before the rains return. At least that's what they say.

Zezura opened two stalks. Mondsee, Kalifa's Robe and Turkestan have stalks getting ready to open

Solstice opened. It bloomed much of the fall and early winter.

Trick or Treat opened two more stalks.

Marilyn's little ArilMed seedling continues to show off.
Unfortunately it inherited an aril characteristic.
It only has one or two buds per stalk.
It makes up for it with many stalks.

Agree with Mary Ann. Thumbs up

First Iris to bloom in 2016 that isn't a carry over stalk from 2015. Have it noted as Species germanica.

Enjoys or suffers cold winters
Zerzura is a lovely iris. it only lasted few years here, but that is the way with the half arils. My I reticulate closed up over night because of the cold (down in the 20s,) but I am sure that they will open again.

A couple more Arils opened today. Still no rain on our side of the valley.

Kalifa's Robe is a popular aril. It was done by the late Ben Hager.

Welcome to my world (this year). I've had a number of the small ones bloom on almost no stalk at all.
At least it bloomed for you. A moral victory.
