I use my front porch as refer overflow all the time. Luckily the local teenagers haven't found the beer and bottles of wine I keep out there. I worry every Thanksgiving that some marauding animal will find the turkey that is thawing out there in the heavy metal roaster.

Saw that. I would have indulged except I have no more room inside for plants. Sighing! I really would like to hit the lottery so that I could build a real greenhouse.

Sally--Good shot!
WHO on earth would buy 25 cent Poinsettias????? Half dead!

Yesterday--HD trashed all the remaining evergreen wreaths--decorated yet! as well
as ALL live, white pine roping. It was my "job" to toss them all donw the chute.
I confiscated some bows and pine cones that were on the wreaths.
Anything to do with X-mas outside is gone.
We had about 30 live trees left and they were FREE for the taking.
Did not have to trash any at all. All went to good homes.

As of last weekend--ALL things to do with Christmas were 50% off.
Still boxed pre-lit trees....Many deco-wreaths---etc...etc...
--Healthy, just out of bloom CC's--gone!

Not sure--but this weekend X-Mas stuff may go down to 75% off.
Lots of lights and LED stuff left. Also the "Projectile lights"...
Keep an eye out!!!

Need to make room for the 100's of storage totes which seem to be the next thing displayed
after Christmas every year. Beats me why!

Happy new Year to you all!!! Gita

Our HD already has the storage totes out. I may wander down there in the morning to see what's left in lighting. But, unless it's a really good deal, I'll probably pass. I already have a stock pile built up. Then again, those freakin' tree rats chewed through the wires on 4 sets this year, so I'll probably need to replace them (or repair them). Sighing!

Congratulations RIc! How long ago did you submit, would you know, or guess? I did two but haven't seen them.

Well, I did buy 2 of the 25 cent Poinsettias. They were in good shape, about six blooms each . Each had TWO layers of deco foil on the pot.One went to work, where we had no real ones, only fake. The other goes to Marks mom. she won't remember five minutes later that she has a new plant, but she will know she is getting a gift.. for three minutes.
Plant it and they will come.

Happy New Year to everyone. Looks lovely out, Michelle and I will be heading to the Cone Parade in a little bit. People make full body sized cones with holes for their faces and arms and then parade in them. I promise I will take pictures.

Muddy, thanks for opening the topic of the seed swap. While the date has not been officially set as yet, it will occur in the next 6 weeks, so it is high time to divert some of our attention in that direction. Jill will undoubtedly start a thread as soon as she recovers from her extensive New Years celebration tour. Smiling

“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...
