Was in the mood for a John Wayne film. Looked at my folder and found one that I have never seen before. Big Jim McLain (1952.) Not a great movie but it did give me some new perspective. I always new he was a large guy. Big part of most of his roles. 6'4" it turns out (mentioned in the movie.) His co star was James Arness (Gunsmoke, etc.) When the 2 stood side by side I was surprised t see that James was 3" taller. I vaguely remember that in Gunsmoke, he was also a big guy but I had no idea how big. Gene
I've been watching the The Durrells in Corfu (PBS) and I really think it's my favorite new show. You have to get past the first episode to really understand all the family members. It's about a widow and her four children. Mom realizes they really aren't doing well financially and her children are really out of control in some ways, mouthing off at her even in the first episode. Once they move and arrive on a lovely Greek island, it's gets much better! Did I say I love it? It was especially good last night! I also like another show, This Is Us. Something about those shows about families this year!
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White

Saw Dr Strange, if you like astral projection, warping of the space time continuum and a lot of fun you will enjoy Dr Strange, 4 shovels out of 5. Stay for the 2 extra trailers after the credits. Good for all ages except the 0-7 group, only because it would be difficult for them to understand.
As Yogi Berra said, “It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”
TV mini series: The Lost Room. Anyone here seen it? I just started watching it and it is one of those you gotta watch the next episode just to see what happens series. Gene
Give me anything with Abbott & Costello, and I'm a very happy person. Am watching Jeopardy now, which I never miss. 2 years ago, I took the online test to be a contestant on the show- I didn't do well. Maybe I'll give it another try when they announce it.

You'd be surprised. That's exactly how I thought... Me? Yeah, right! But then got to thinking- how many people do you actually know that tried out? My dad had asked me " How are you going to feel if you don't do well on the test".... My answer to him was simple.... How was I going to feel not taking the opportunity to find out either way? I'd much rather try & fail, than automatically failing by not even trying? The "what if's" afterward will kill ya!

That's great you tried, Debbie. We love the show and never miss it. I'm great at pulling out answers at home with no pressure, but would totally lose my mind if I was on the show. I wouldn't even know my name!
I always seem to play 'the couch' version well; I'd completely freeze up & make myself look like an idiot if I actually got on. I've always had stage fright & knowing me, I'd be so nervous, I would probably wet myself in front of millions of people.... Yeah, not a good idea. Wouldn't want anyone to start calling me 'squirt'!

In college I tried out for a long gone TV show called ' College Bowl'. I won a spot on the team, and then the producers came to run through a trial show. I clammed up and couldn't think of anything but my fright. No TV show for me
