I had to check my list to see which ones were own root, I have quite a few and most are huge, just a couple have issues with not putting on much growth but I suspect the location as a few other plants are stunted.

My own roots are, (this list does not include minis which are all own root):

Bouquet Parfait
Brass band
Brown Velvet
Buff Beauty
Distant Drums
Golden Celebration
Graham Thomas
Hot Cocoa
International Herald Tribune
Irish Hope
Jeri Jennings
Julia Child
Louise Clements
Molineux
Penelope
Pompon Flower Circus
Polka
Sally Holmes
Sea Foam
Sombreuil
Sterntaler AKA Golden Fairy Tale (this one is struggling, I may have to move it to see if it helps)
Tradescant
Veilchenblau
Westerland
Wild Blue Yonder
William Shakespeare 2000
Lady Banks

A few I got from Zuzu that I am unsure if they are grafted or not, @Zuzu, do you know about these?
Helen Hayes
Vesper
Veldfire
Perle d'Or
Jacquenetta

All but Veldfire are own-root roses, Sue. Actually, Veldfire might be one too. I had an own-root and a grafted, and I don't remember which one I gave you.

Dr. Huey is in full bloom right now, and I'm surprised to see how many of my roses that shouldn't need grafting were grafted. Sally Holmes is one example of a rose putting up lots of Huey suckers. I guess I bought it back when all roses were grafted. Many of my minis are grafted also.

Sue, when we dug up one of my Colette climbers to move it to your garden, part of the rootstock stayed behind. I now have a spectacular Dr. Huey growing in that spot. You may recall that I was anxious to get rid of that Colette because it was overwhelming the other roses in the bed. The good doctor is twice as big! Hilarious!

It has been a good year for Dr Huey here too. Actually, nearly all of my roses are doing better than usual this spring, They seem to like having no real winter followed by lots of rain.

The rain was a mixed blessing in my garden. Some rose bushes are bigger than ever before, but some have virtually no leaves at this time. Rain-related black spot took them all. The new foliage will appear soon, however, and everything will be fine. Smiling

I gave Collette a spot to really spread. Thumbs up I'll check Veldfire tomorrow but I bet you're right as I don't recall a graft.

I took several shots this evening so the light was low.
Bouquet Parfait is such a soft pretty thing!

Sue, I'm glad you posted a photo of WS 2000. Mine has just started to bloom, and I'm not real sure which canes are Huey and which are WS. It's that time of year where several red roses are suspect.
We got more rain, along with a 70 mph wind gust that took out a heathy huge cottonwood tree next to our pond. It fell onto another tree, taking out half of it, and then they landed on my iris bed. Sigh. That's 6 inches of rain in the last 3 days. Be careful what you wish for...
Roses, clematis, iris, peonies and alliums are all spectacular, even the shredded ones!
Lowes decided to have a "rain sale" and marked all trees half price, and everything else 25% off. I convinced the clerk that a Sunsprite tree rose is a tree, so it came home with me, along with Parfuma Dark Desire, Summer Romance, Lemon Fizz and Beverly. The 3 gallon parfumas were 7.50 or so. Our rose society will be selling some of these same roses from Chamblee next weekend. We may have lost customers to Lowes because the roses at Lowes are huge and healthy looking. The rain beat them up just a tiny bit, knocked the petals off, but they'll be fine.
Does Hortico send out any notice when they ship? I ordered 4 roses, and asked for them to be shipped last week, but nothing came, and I have not heard from them. The website says they will attempt to contact the customer if a rose is out of stock, but mine were all listed as in stock. The confirmation said sometimes roses really aren't in stock...but nothing else. I am crossing my fingers that they really have cleaned up their act. Crossing Fingers!
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.

Cindi - that is persuasion for you - Sunsprite standard at an extra 25% - good going!

Sorry to hear about all the damage to your garden! Hope you can still save some of the iris!

Sharlene, I would say it's mild for me but I do think that can be subjective, perhaps related to humidity?

Cindi, my confirmation said the same thing. No one ever contacted me after that, and the roses arrived 5 days after my requested delivery date, so I think they probably ship them out on that date.

I am going to respond to Sue and Cindi here and then go to May for my post ... Big Grin

Suzanne ... as usual, your photos are simply awesome. Mine are not even close. I still cannot get the hang of the newer camera. Crying Thank you so much for sharing.

Cindi ... I am so sorry to hear about the damage to your garden. That has to be so hard. Good news about the rose tree ...
I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.
