It was so much fun looking through my pictures for favorite yellows that I thought I would continue on with the pinks/purples.

ALICIA ROSE KISSED by , I think, Quarry is always beautiful although it doesn't want to increase in my garden

BELLADONNA STARFISH by Brian Mahieu is one of my favorite daylilies. Vigorous, tall, sunfast, great parent.

MICHAEL BENNETT by Gerda Brooker is gorgeous and blooms well even in a fairly shady spot in my garden

I absolutely love ORCHID MOONRISE by Ned Roberts!

SUBTLE KNIFE by Luddy Lambertson was new last fall. Loved the blooms and hope it settles in and is happy here.

Ann, those daylilies are spectacular! I really love the first, but they're all wonderful, and so were your beautiful yellows. Someone just sent me SUBTLE KNIFE as a bonus plant, so I'm so glad to see a picture of it from someone's garden. But I already know I'll love it! And welcome to our Daylily Forum!

I'm finding that I don't have a lot of 'favorite pinks'. Most of those that are favorites are more rose, I think. Too many of the 'pinks' are just not 'pink' in my garden--maybe beige pink.... I do like purples, which is a good thing living in Manhattan KS--purple is the color of our KSU sports teams so 'purple pride' is rampant here! Purple daylilies always sell well at our annual sale.

Michael Bennett and Orchid Moonrise are gorgeous. I love the pure pinks but they are hard to find. I have a lot of off pink to orange. Putting in more pink pink and rose next spring.

Celeste, I love your picture of PEPPERMINT PINWHEEL! Such an intense color. Decided to look through my pictures again to see if I really don't have many 'pinks' or if that was just my impression..... Did find a few that I really do love.

WEBSTER'S PINK WONDER is an impressive BIG bloom.

SMILING LADIES is a pretty clear pink for me

Thumb of 2011-09-29/annred97/8a4c16

BORDER CROSSING by Dougherty. Kinda short but I like the pattern.

MINNESOTA MORNING by Gary Schaben is another pink that I like a lot.

I have a new plant a friend gave me called Loud Girls, by Judy Davisson. (sp?)
One of it's parents is Webster's P W. I really liked it at my friends garden.

I really like Judy Davisson's daylilies. I finally bought one this summer on the LA--UP AND AT EM. I made lots of seeds with WPW in 2009, seedlings planted 2010. I'm really looking forward to seeing them bloom this summer! I did have one seedling bloom this past summer that got me pretty excited. It's JOAN DERIFIELD X WPW.

Thumb of 2011-09-29/annred97/8ed468

Plant was a little short but the bloom was over 8"! Scape was short but it was a 1st yr seedling with only about 2" between it and it's neighbors.... Hoping for some added height next summer.

WPW was floppy for me. I only kept it 2-3 years. Loud Girls is a big improvement over WPW in my eyes. I am thrilled to have LG.

Joan Derifield, on the other hand, has been a great daylily. Solid performer! Love the colors. I have had it since it was introduced. I have drooled over Paradise Bar And Grill, which is out of Joan and Jerry Hyatt. I loved it when I saw it in the seedling field first year it bloomed.

Not sure this link will work, it is to Curt's web page, the listings for the year Paradise Bar And Grill came out. Scroll down a bit to see it. It is MUCH prettier in person. Very dramatic.
