It's been a while since all the above silliness, so I'll get it back on topic...

These are NOIDs, but still beautiful, and fascinating!

I'm enthralled by the changes these plants go through, and now I can watch as they cluster up.

Jacki, Your fist pic is a J. heuffelii and the second a sempervivum (you probably already know that). Charleen, yours is definitely a J. heuffelii as well.

Can't assign varietal names, but can usually assign species.

Hi Twit - they are both Jovibarba heuffelii, at least that's what they're supposed to be. If you look carefully you can see the splitting of the crown.

Okay, I guess things have slowed down enough that I can get out and about and start taking pictures again.
Time to start posting new pictures so we can see the changes in plants at this time of year.
Come on every one, get that camera out and share your pictures.
Be sure to post to the correct Forum. Thumbs up

This is the list from which I ordered my Jovibarba, but I can't see any heuffelii - help!

JOVIBARBAS (Sizes designated by capital letter)
701 Allionii from Esteng Allionii is a species from the Southern Alps, and has long, tapering, incurved leaves. This one has globes of deep red and is very colourful in Winter. M
702 Allionii x hirta Looks like it does represent 50% of each parent species. M
703 Allionii x hirta from Biele Karpaty Quite different from #702. Very dark red in Winter. S
704 Arenaria from Murtal Dainty petite rosettes flushed bright red. A tiny jewel. S
705 Arenaria is the smallest jovibarba species. This is a neat little plant, globular in shape, and spreads 'just right' S
706 Hirta from Belansky Tetra Deep blue-green with purple backed leaves. M
707 Hirta 'Borealis' Pale green backed with orange M
708 Hirta 'Emerald Spring' Bright green and red in Summer. Wider leaves than most hirtas. M
709 Hirta ex Ottawa garden Similar but smaller than our High Tatra specimens.M N/A
710 Hirta glabrescens from High Tatra. Impressive. Many lance-shaped red-tipped leaves form an open rosette. M
711 Hirta from High Tatra Larger bright green rosettes, with many leaves. Darker tips on lower leaves. Neat and perfectly shaped.
712 Hirta 'Hedgehog' Very attractive burgundy and green. M
713 Hirta 'Nitre' Flattish red and green rosettes. M
714 Hirta 'Preissiana' Green balls with dark red markings and shiny red 'rollers'. S
715 Hirta from Smeryouka Rosettes of this variety are more open, paler in colour, and have wider leaves, looking almost like a sempervivum. M
716 Hirta 'White Knight' Red/green leaves, shading to gray, set off by tiny 'whiskers' S
717 Hirta 'Yellow-green form' Really yellow-green balls, with lemon-green 'rollers'. S
718 Sobolifera 'August Cream' Does actually turn a cream colour in mid-summer, but then tends to 'burn'. In short supply S N/A
719 Sobolifera 'Green Globe' Bright green globes. Soboliferas have very incurved leaves, making the rosette look closed. S
720 Sobolifera 'Madam Lorene' Nice winter red of good size. Opens to show a green centre. M
721 Sobolifera from Palausle Starry shaped, frosty green backed with rodr. Beautiful winter colour. S
722 Sobolifera ex former USSR Very dark red. 'Rollers' pop up on short stalks. M
723 Sobolifera Varsovic Diamond-shaped red-brown colourings on reverse of green leaves. S
724 Unidentified species from Huran Stars of green are literally 'sparked' dark red. Easily distinguished from other species. S

Those are the ones that Jack at Cavendish nursery chose from when he sent me a selection - unlabeled. I can see if he has a list of all his heffelii to cross reference.

They came with no names Jacki? Confused
Is that because you just use them for projects?

Actually, they came with no names as I just found out today because there was a huge windstorm at Cavendish and the tags went everywhere! Jack is going to send me a list, and maybe I can pinpoint the ones I have. He had 15 named varieties of heuffelii, so it may not be too difficult.
